Franklin Clinton is one of three playable protagonists in Grand Theft Auto 5. In the game, Franklin joins various organized crime groups to make a name for himself and escape the gangster scene. Over the course of the game, he commits thefts, defrauds others, and has several close encounters with rival gangs while living a life of crime in the fictional city of Los Santos. Fonteno told Cenat
“Rockstar thought when they picked us, buddy, they picked the right people for this shit. […] My experience is just like Franklin’s, you know,” Fonteno said. “I’m just like him, brother. I have bullet holes all over my body, gangbang and all, bro. I’ve been through a lot. So it was easy for me to be this character.”
Cenat also asked him questions about how he got the job and became the character. According to Fonteno, he had to interview at Rockstar for the job and didn’t really expect to get the role.
“It was a crazy search. I had to come and interview with a few guys of all ages,” Fonteno said. “So I was like, ‘Man, I can’t handle this shit.’ But I guess they liked the voice and the personality and who I was, so they called me back.”
Fonteno wouldn’t say what comes next. While he said he has a great relationship with Rockstar Games, he didn’t comment on his involvement (or lack thereof) in it Grand Theft Auto 6.
