Some of you asked for it, so yes, I’ll be playing Carpathian Night starring Bela Lugosi this weekend for review. First impressions are pretty strong, so we’ll see how it holds up. I’m also still deeply rooted in Tetris Forever; especially the new title, Tetris Time Warp. A wonderful thing. Oh, and I’ve also started Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake – so good, so far!
On the PS5, against my better judgement, I restarted Baldur’s Gate III. Why? I don’t know, I wanted to.

It happened. The last big update dragged me back to Stardew Valley.
I’m fine, but if I don’t hear from you in two weeks, call the police.

I’m hoping to spend a little more time with the Brotherhood this weekend. I just polished the first section and I’m really like I’ve been playing so far! Does the thought of doing the same thing for another 30 hours turn me off? Ahahhh. We’ll see how long the party lasts.
If things get a little tiring, I’ll defo jump to else strong RPG of the week and I get my awesome hat on in the catchy-named Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake. I won’t be able to get anything done next week unless I make it a fun little turn-based battle in my head…

I’ve been playing the hell out of Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake this week, and not just to review it. The super fast gameplay loop, plenty of fun character interactions, and the highly addictive “one more move” feeling means I’ve had very little sleep this week.

I’m scratching my head so I’m going back to COCOON for some good puzzle action, and maybe I’ll go back to Immortals Fenyx Rising (which I never finished) for the puzzles. When I need a break from them, I’ll throw back Stardew Valley 1.6 – I haven’t played nearly enough of it. I haven’t even made it to the new festival yet. Or gave a hat to my dog!

So this weekend I will finish my review [REDACTED] on Switch for Nintendo Life, which I really like and I’m happy to report that it works very well. Expect my review early next week. Elsewhere, I’ll probably dive into the Vampire Survivors: Ode to Castlevania DLC, and probably go for a few laps of the gory puzzle on Grindstone, which I just returned to. A terrible puzzle.
And in the Nontendo space, I just downloaded Spilled mushrooms on Playdate, which has garnered attention for its addictive gameplay, so I’m going to try that out as well.

After polishing up Echoes of Wisdom and uninstalling it to free up some SD card space, I’ll be diving into Yakuza this week and, perhapsUnicorn Overlord. I’m also crossing my fingers that Animal Well and Lorelei and the Laser Eyes will be part of the Thanksgiving sale soon. Outside of that? Come on, I won’t have time for anything more than that! But I still have Can of Wormholes and World of Goo 2 to fall back on before GOTY considerations. It was a good year!

Homestretch in BAKER! Such a gem of a game with the added bonus of hundreds of Japanese trivia to discover. I think I’m also close to finishing Abathor, but nowhere near completing everything Gundam Breaker 4 has to offer. I’d also like to progress further in Yakuza Kiwami, but the fact that I’m hooked on Angel at Dusk and another ongoing event with a 150% XP bonus in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
I game of the week is Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake. Only the main theme is a quick trip to the Famicom version which I could only watch from afar as the Japanese language remained a huge barrier at the time. Here we are in the year 2024, spoiled with both the original enhanced version bundled with the other two games and this new, amazing HD-2D reimagining of the game. It may still take some time, but it will be an incredible luxury to have the entire remastered trilogy on Switch.
That’s what we have planned for the weekend, what about you? Let us know in the next poll which games you plan to launch in the next few days.
