From Moana to Frozen, ranking the films from Disney's revival era

Strange world is one of Disney's most underrated films, period. The pulpy adventure film incorporates the standard Disney generational trauma narrative to great effect as it follows three generations of the Clade family. Everyone has an idea of who they want their family to be, and since the grandfather, father and son of the family each have their own beliefs, Strange world also delivers some of the most visually stunning animation Disney has ever shown in (not enough) theaters. Strange world draws inspiration from adventure films like Indiana Joneswhile also incorporating environmental themes supported by a beautiful alien universe. The titular world consists of breathtaking, otherworldly vistas, vibrant characters, both human and otherwise, and fascinating creatures that are, well, strange. And although his world is full of weirdness, his conflicts remain fairly human. The Clade family struggles to understand each other and must reach dangerous, unexplored places to understand the obvious. Tragically, Disney under-marketed the film, making it one of the biggest box office bombs in history. If you have a Disney+ account, the movie will be streaming, and that's damn it. God, it deserved better.
