The animated film “Moana” from 2016 is getting a sequel with “Moana 2”. It will be in theaters on November 28, 2024. But when can we expect the home cinema premiere?
“Moana 2” is the sequel to the 2016 animated film “Moana” of the same name. David G Derrick Jr. makes both his directing and screenwriting debut with the film. Even though it is an animated film, well-known stars such as Aluli'i Cravalho, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Alan Tudyk, Temuera Morrison and Nicole Scherzinger have once again provided their dubbing voices.
“Moana 2” opens in German cinemas on November 28, 2024. However, if you prefer to enjoy the film in the comfort of your own home, you are probably already looking forward to the home cinema premiere. The good news: It shouldn't take too long until you can watch the film at home with a streaming subscription. We'll tell you below when you can expect streaming to start.
“Moana 2”: early streaming start on Disney+?
While most cinema films are only available via subscription on streaming services after almost a year or later, you may not have to wait that long for “Moana 2”. It is very likely that the film produced by Disney will end up on its own streaming service Disney+.
Disney productions usually find their way onto streaming services much earlier. The last successful Disney film “Everything is Inside Out 2” was added to the program after just under three months. So “Moana 2” could End of February or March 2025 be available on Disney+. However, confirmation is still pending.
“Moana 2” on DVD and Blu-ray
Disc collectors usually have to wait around three to four months before they can put the silver disc on the shelf. The DVD and Blu-ray could be expected February or March 2025 be commercially available.
