Nintendo's customer service in Japan has had to advise Nintendo switch owners not to use alcohol to clean up their Joy-Con. Their post translated on social media reads:
“Recently, customers have been asking if they can get rid of the Nintendo switch and Joy-Cons with alcohol. We are very sorry, but please do not use alcohol because the plastic parts may disappear or groan. ”
Understandably, in view of the current global climate people may want their electronics to be clean, but Nintendo advises "for cleaning purposes, please use dry cloth,".
