History of Heroes Trails Of Cold Steel III Main

Last year NIS America confirmed that it was bringing JRPG Legend of Heroes: Lines of Cold Steel III switch to 2020, with the game scheduled for June 30th. Working longer History of Heroes The series has more than a dozen entries to its name, and for Cold Steel fans in particular, there's plenty to look forward to this summer and beyond, with the fourth Cold Steel game just announced.

Recently we had the opportunity to have the President of Nihon Falcom, Mr. Toshihiro Kondo, and NIS America answered a few of our questions about the Turnch version and found out more before it was released at the end of School.

Nintendo's Life: For anyone who has never played any of the many Trails games, tell us a bit about the series and this installment in particular.

Toshihiro Kondo: The cold iron rails are a gripping RPG series full of rich characters and a growing story, similar to the popular TV show. In this third phase, the Kingdom of Erebonia, the most powerful in the continent, has begun to invade other nations. We enter the footsteps of the main character, Rean, as he changes from his life as a student at Thors Military Academy to a lecturer on the campus of their branch.

Change the History of Heroes 01

For the veterans of the series, what are the most important changes to the basic Trails experience compared to the previous two Cold Steel games?

Toshihiro Kondo: I think for those of you who have played both Me and II, the transition of Dean from a student to a coach with his own class would be a very exciting experience.

Depending on the program, we completely transferred the UI and made it so that the commands could be executed at the click of a button. I think it makes for fun and quick battles. In addition, there is a new program called Brave Order, which lets you test your team without wasting opportunity.

In addition, enemies have a Break Gauge where, once reduced, we will make it impossible for them to do something. This is another new system that allows players to turn the touts into battle.

We upgraded the Panzer Soldat battles to give them a stronger presence and more fun to play.

The series has a long and solid history with over a dozen games, and Trails of Cold Steel III is a direct sequel. As a character-focused series, how much of the story information so far would a new player need before jumping into the game? What's the best way to catch up (in short by playing the rest of the series so far)?

Toshihiro Kondo: In this game, Rean is now a teacher and his new pupils are making a new beginning. In addition, the relationships that Sean is choosing so far are restarting, so it's a good time for those looking to get into Trails of Cold Steel from III.

From the title screen, you are able to look at the bios of the characters and things that have happened up to this point. This way, the player will be able to get acquainted with the subject faster.

The Legend Of Heroes Trails Of Cold Steel III 04

The game was originally designed for the PS4 – what are the major challenges in bringing ToCS3 to the switch?

The most challenging aspect of deploying to Nintendo switchch (and PC) was to prevent developing teams from operating on both platforms at the same time

NIS America: The most challenging aspect of deploying Nintendo switchch (and PC) is to get development teams to work on both platforms simultaneously. Durante (Peter Thoman), now part of PH3 (PH3 Games, a professional video game company) that they brought earlier Cold iron rails I and Cold iron rails II on PC. He has done a good job in the harbor, including providing excellent assistance to the Steam community who were experiencing difficulties after the launch. We were sure we wanted to access PH3.

At the same time, we also wanted a studio that could work alongside the PH3 team on the Nintendo switchch version. Finally, arrangements were made with Software and PH3 to share the same code base in both forms.

Are there any changes or additions to the switch version?

Toshihiro Kondo: We introduced patch 1.02 on PS4 for text update. This update will be included in the Nintendo Switch version upon release, which will include 26 pieces of cosmetic DLC (free and forever!) To personalize the characters.

Many people see Change as a form of & # 39; spiritual success & # 39; on the PS Vita, so seeing Trails – which has a strong history in the hands of Sony's hands – coming to Nintendo & # 39; s console will delight many fans. Obviously, the game was first developed before Swingch introduced, but next time can we expect to see Trails games coming to the system alongside (or near it) releases of other platforms?

Toshihiro Kondo: I think that almost everyone who reaches the end of Trails of Cold Steel III will want to get into Trails of Cold Steel IV. For those players who play on the switch, we definitely want to fulfill their demands.

Note: Since this discussion, NIS America has confirmed that the fourth game is coming to Switch.

Change the History of Heroes 3 02

Sponsorship for Trails is part of the Kiseki / Legend great Heroes franchise dating back to 1989. Are there any plans to bring any of the previous titles from the Legend of Heroes series (or other games to Nihon Falcom's back list) for future change?

Toshihiro Kondo: If Nintendo Turnch players really want our games on the platform, then there's definitely an opportunity for us to look at other topics going forward. I hope it works this way with me. I hope you all start with Trails of Cold Steel III.

Switch is a great program to enjoy turn-based RPGs and already has a host of excellent examples in its library. Tell us what you think makes Trails of Cold Steel III unique and sets it apart from other JRPGs in the system.

Toshihiro Kondo: There are several. There are some things I mentioned earlier about the new features in the game, but something that has always been in the series is the Action Time war. In this system, you look at the status bar and see when each character will take action, allowing you to plan accordingly. You can distract other characters and figure out which commands to use, so it's not a simple turn-based battle plan. I think the combat system has a lot of depth to it.

Finally, what switch games do the team enjoy playing when they don't work hard at Trails?

Toshihiro Kondo: I'm sure people on staff enjoy a variety of games, but among many of them, Zelda is a favorite. I hear people talking about them Wild Breathing too much. Also, I think we feel very close to him Fire Cone.

Special thanks to Mr Kondo and Erin at NIS America. If you're looking for more about the game, there's something you'll find on the Shop switch. We also recommend you check out the Update to PS4 Trails version of Cold Steel III at my sister's site Push the Square (Spoilers: love it!) to find out why RPG fans are so excited about its arrival on the switch.
