The categories of accessories associated with HomeKit are expanding, and today we are launching a unique product in its category: the FlowerBud aroma diffuser with Vocolinc. The device that is humidifier, odor diffuser and lamp, all by themselves, and has all the functionality to keep up with the HomeKit offers you (in addition to Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant).
Filter. lamp and diffuser
Of the three functions performed by this smart device, the original HomeKit sees only two: a humidifier and a lamp. Apple's home-made platform does not include odorants between its categories, but Vocolinc had the fun idea of using this opportunity to work on a humidifier to distribute perfumes and thus keep your room smelling fresh while achieving the right humidity. If in this case we add that with a nice scent you can add decorative lamps that you can customize to your liking, the result is a multi-functional ingredient that you can certainly think of in many possible places in your home.
Its design is not complicated, rather. If you are looking for diffusers, you will surely find similar devices, but Vocolinc wanted to give you a personal touch, as if it were a flower (hence its name). It is made of white matt plastic, with a sliding piece which allows light to be seen. It's not a device that stands out for the quality of its materials, but when we look at what its function is, it doesn't need it at all.
It consists of two pieces that can be easily separated. The foundation is responsible for storing water to make it deep, where it can add any essential perfume. This foundation is where all the essential elements of this Vocolinc FlowerBud are, the main piece being the "tunnel" only when the vaporised water comes out and the scent you add. Its deposit is approximately 300ml, which is neither too much nor too little. With the use I provide (about 4 hours a day) I have to fill it up every other day, or this will vary greatly depending on how much moisture you want to get with the available moisture.
Two buttons are available on the front lets you control the functions of this FlowerBud manuallyAlways a nice touch. Turning on, turning on the color, turning on or off humidity and setting the timer (2, 4 and 6 hours) are functions we can do with these buttons without having to switch to our iPhone.
And the smell? Vocolinc does not put any sample in its box, but we can use whatever we like. It's very easy to find in physical stores or online, such as This set of various perfumes you can find on Amazon for just € 12.99 (link). Depending on the number of drops you put into the tank, the size of the odor in the home will vary. If my experience helps you, 10 drops of oil in a full tank (300ml) works to keep the fragrance within two days of taking the water. When you fill it in again and you add 10 drops and you can vary the aroma you like.
If you want to see the functionality of this FlowerBud, remove it from the upper part and you'll see how the smoke from the base and the water moves throughout the tank. So it works like a scent harness, since even though the oil does not dissolve in water (obviously) as it progressively the mixture becomes available
In terms of its functionality as a lamp, it is not something you can use to light a room, however small it may be. Its purpose is not that, it will serve as a decorative light. You can control its durability and color, for a fun and relaxing environment, use it as a night light to sleep, or as a light in the living room while watching a movie. By the way, when we talk about the sound, you will never notice the occasional sound of a non-annoying pull, just the opposite.
Integration with HomeKit
Integration with HomeKit is a successful device of this type because in addition to controlling it with our voice (with Siri) we can create environments and automation so that we don't have to worry about remembering to turn it on or off and therefore always have to have our own room with a good scent and a lot of moisture. Of course, don't forget to fill the tank, because HomeKit doesn't let it run out of water, a failure that Apple should solve. Connecting to the home WiFi network means we can set it anywhere no matter how far away from the control point.
With the home system we can control the humidifier function exactly, we can only set the humidity we want to achieve, and turn it on or off. Light controls are standard on any compatible HomeKit lamp, the ability to choose brightness and color. Including Vocolinc FlowerBud in your surroundings and HomeKit automation is very easy, but if you have any questions, you can see it explained in this document.
Vocolinc has its own functionality that we can manage FlowerBud, with some tricky design, but with other additional functions, such as letting us know that the tank is running out of water o Set the size of the candy over setting the target humidity, o Set timer. This app "LinkWise", which is completely unlimited and you can download from this link, also allows you to control any other accessory you've added to HomeKit, so if you like it more than traditional iOS you can use it without any problems.
