Thanks to the integrated HEPA filter, the portable air purifier Atmoblue was originally developed for joggers and promises to filter 99.9% of breathing air, so it is more effective than N95 masks. Such smart air purifiers will soon become part of everyday life and replace disposable masks.



For now, we may have to get used to wearing breathing masks in public places. Effective masks are usually not very comfortable to wear. Many people find it difficult to breathe normally through N95 or FFP masks.

How safe are these masks?

According to the manufacturer, the mask has passed RoHS, SRCC, FFC and QCQ certification. For the safety and effectiveness of Atmoblue, the most important thing is the filter used. So-called particle filters are used here, which can be divided into different filter categories. The resolution of the element used by the manufacturer [HEPA H13] must be 99.5%. Atmoblue even gave a value of 99.97%.

This makes the Atmoblue mask safer than the N95 mask designed for medical personnel. According to the Robert Koch Institute [RKI], the latter is comparable to known FFP3 masks.

The masks start at 109 euros. When the event ends, the price of the mobile air purifier is 40% more expensive. According to Kickstarter's description, these masks are already in production and should be shipped from August.
