Over the holidays, NPD video game industry analyst Matt Piscatella has been sharing interesting details about software and hardware in the United States. According to NPP Group's PlayerPulse survey, over 40% of Switch owners in the US own PlayStation 4 and / or Xbox One.
Piscatella goes on to explain that Nintendo Switch is "not a place" in that plan and actually adds to it. Below is his full description on Twitter:
He also notes how he does not see the next launch of the hardware having a strong impact on Retail sales by 2020. Piscatella emphasized on the current sales policy of the switch, in a recent interview with GamesIndustry.biz:
The Nintendo switchch will remain at the top of the hardware space, possibly by 2022.
However, he began to say how the industry, in general, could see a decline in hardware sales, as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One end their life cycles. Reforms have, fortunately, managed to undo some of these reductions in 2019, but it is unlikely that this will continue this year.
