What exactly is Techland accused of?
The Polish report is based mainly on the comments of some anonymous developers at Techland. So it should »No clear line« for working on Dying Light 2 give. The reason for this is supposedly primarily the responsible creative director Adrian Ciszewski – one of the cornerstones of the developer studio.
"Constant changes"
The first point of criticism is according to the report the constant change of different content. The story as well as the direction of play and basic mechanics should change all the time. So there should not yet be a vertical slice – a cross section of the actual game, in which all planned features are already represented.
According to various developers, this lack of focus can be traced back to Ciszewski, who was "overwhelmed" with his position, "insulted people" and expected excessively long working hours.
Quarrel with Chris Avellone
According to internal sources, the second important reason for the problems with Dying Light 2 are conflicts between role-playing expert Chris Avellone and Ciszewski. The studio management supposedly interferes in Avellone's work regularly and requests changes to the story of Dying Light 2.
These interferences probably came not only from Ciszewski, but also from the managing director Pawel Marchewka.
