After its release, Valorant made headlines, among other things, with its anti-cheat system called "Vanguard", because it intervenes very deeply in the system of your PC. A hotfix released on May 8 aims to take the measures somewhat less invasive shape.
In an hour we're shipping a hotfix for Vanguard to + up its compatibility with cheat-vulnerable drivers. Most of the previously blocked drivers should now work. Some egregious ones will cause the game not to start but now very few will be blocked outright. Thanks for the feedback.

What was Vanguard doing?
One of the recent criticisms of Vanguard is that the anti-cheat measure deactivated your hardware without asking. Users complained not only that, for example, the mouse and keyboard suddenly stopped working, but that even important systems such as PC coolers were switched off without being asked. In the worst case, this can lead to overheating and the resulting hardware damage.
The developer addressed this criticism in the last hotfix. So Vanguard should now compatible with most drivers that previously caused problems. If it still finds one that it thinks is a cheat, it will report in the future. Then you have to turn it off manually to play Valorant.

What adjustments have you made so far?
This is not the first change to the anti-cheat measures. The developer had already added the option To disable Vanguard as long as Valorant is not running. Since then, the studio has also allowed the tool to be uninstalled if necessary.
Anti-cheat lead Paul Chamberlain also commented on the future of Vanguard and states that software blocking only »The last resort« should be and you want to »use less invasive measures«. Among them is that Valorant simply refuses to start.
