After almost two years of inactivity, the Twitter account of the Mafia saga has risen these days to launch various cryptic messages. Something similar to what Crytek did with Crysis Remastered recently, so it was all pointing to some sort of comeback from the gangster franchise. Indeed, it has been.
2K Games has just announced the Mafia Trilogy, which as its name suggests, is a compilation with the three installments of the saga. Here you can see a short teaser in which the different protagonists of each game talk about the family. At the end we are summoned to an announcement that will take place next May 19.
As you know, Mafia is a sandbox and action franchise whose main strong point is his setting and personality. Everything is designed to capture the spirit of gangster movies, which is what has earned him so much fame over the years.
So far we have had one delivery per generation of consoles during the last three. The first was released in 2002 for 128-bit machines and computers, the second was released eight years later in the next generation, and the third has been available since 2016 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

The third part of the saga did not enjoy very good reviews due to the poor optimization status during its launch, with lots of bugs everywhere. However, subsequent updates have managed to make it quite clean.
