If you’re one of the lucky ones who got a PS5 already, you know that with one Playstation plus Subscription also gives you access to the PS Plus collection, 20 popular, really good PS4 games. However, if you are still on PS4, this bundle will not be available to you. Well, it didn’t take long for people to find out if they had signed into a PS5 using their PS4 details. This would trigger the ticket in their account that was activated for playback on the older computer. And as VGC Reportswhich quickly resulted in naughty PS5 owners selling the opportunity on auction sites. Now it seems that Sony has rushed in and outlawed their ban.

It really shouldn’t surprise anyone that Sony would look down on this practice. It is one thing to ask your buddy to log into his new computer as you in order to gain access to those God of War, Arkham Knight, Fallout 4, Last Of Us Remastered, Ratchet & Clink… there is another way to sell the service on eBay. And if the claims are correct, Sony’s answer seems harsh: according to the PS5 receiverss caught up to possibly see nothing good permanent Network Services Bans While Buyers’ PS4 Accounts Consider A Two Month Ban.

As VGC points out, this seems to be mostly focused in Hong Kong at this moment.

There are some questions about whether the permanent bans on PS5s were due to direct retribution by Sony or an automatic ban on a console logged into multiple accounts in a single day. Because that is never in doubt. And of course there must be a lot of people who are screwing themselves now because a friend unlocked the games on their PS4 and now doesn’t know if they’re going to get into trouble. We asked Sony to see if this could be resolved.

If you haven’t thought about it in the meantime, you must be tempted and scared alike to try.
