“Gears 5: Hivebusters Expansion” will be available on consoles, PCs and Android devices on Xbox via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on the same day as the global release on December 15.
If you don’t have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Gears 5: Hivebusters Expansion will provide you with an area of $19.99 or equivalent.
In the new extension, you will play Lahni, Keegan and Mac from escape mode. This is their first mission as part of the Hivebuster project. The goal of this “suicide mission” is to destroy the Swarm hive, which may be the key to saving Seraand and “repaying yourself”.
This is what you can expect:
- A three-hour new exercise took place on the volcanic Galange Islands. Lava flows and beaches on the island are crawling with Swarm and deadly new predators.
- Use and upgrade the ultimate ability in the campaign story settings for the first time.

- Expanded support for Gears 5 Xbox Series X | S optimizations, including reduced loading time, fast recovery, variable refresh rate and 4K HDR Ultra visual effects on Series X.
The expansion also adds 16 new achievements, providing a total of 210 Gamerscores.
Next week will also launch the “Gears 5: Game of the Year” version, which includes the Hivebusters campaign expansion, Halo: Reach character pack and 30-day upgrades, and can be obtained digitally exclusively from the Microsoft Digital Store for $59.99, or Included in the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on the first day.
