You have to cross the site during chapter 5 in A Plague Tale: Requiem for make their way and join the boat to continue the story.
This is the first major environmental puzzle in A Plague Tale: Requiem that doesn’t act as a tutorial, requiring you to figure out how to get both Amicia and Lucas across the construction site using Amicia’s tools, and anything the pair finds on their way.
We have detailed how to traverse the construction site and clear a path for the boat below, so you can continue with Chapter 5 and the rest of the story as soon as possible.

How to get through the construction site in A Plague Tale Requiem Chapter 5
The first step to crossing the construction site in A Plague Tale Requiem is to throw a lighter on the hanging hay bale below the first staircase, then run and climb the wooden wall opposite marked with white at the top.
If you run out of resources to do so, turn around and open the small chest to find x1 Alcohol and x1 Sulfur needed to craft an Ignifer.
Interact with the crank on this platform to spin the hanging hay bale all around. Lucas will then offer his services to turn the crank, so have Lucas interact with the crank firstthen when he turns it all the way, throw an Ignifer on the haystack.
You can now run to the next set of stairs – but make sure you have a ignition pot first, because you have to throw one at the bottom of the next staircase to completely clear the way. If you need resources to craft one, check the two crates on this platform.
To make Lucas pass towards you, turn the crank on this platform, which will move another haystack towards Lucas, who will turn it on himself and cross.
To get Amicia to the next platform, have Lucas turn the crank, and when it spins fully again, throw an Ignifer at him, tell Lucas to stop, then follow the lit haystack to a small stone wall.
Amicia will be surrounded by rats, but Lucas throws an object to help her. Press the button that appears on the screen when this happens to activate a Pyrite and move forward to the stairs in front of you.
In order for Lucas to reunite with Amicia again, Amicia must first switch to another platform. To do this, interact with the crank on the platform you are currently on to move the hale ball around. Release the crank and while the haystack rolls back, light it up with Igniferrun down the stairs and follow the lighted haystack to climb the small wooden wall with white on top that leads to the next platform.
At the top of the platform, take a stick from the pile in front of you and throw it at Lucas. He will go to the platform that Amicia was on before. To reunite the pair, you need to throw a rock from your slingshot at the part of the platform Lucas is standing on, then light the hay bale in front of the two of you.
This allows Lucas and Amicia to move on to the next platform by climbing the small wooden wall with white on top. If you’re quick, however, you can look to the left of the lit hay bale and search a chest under the platform Lucas was standing on to get x1 Tool, x1 Brimstone, and x10 Coins for crafting.
The last thing you need to do to get through the construction site in A Plague Tale: Requiem is pick up a stick from the pile next to the workbench, light it on the nearby brazier, then take a left down the steps to another blaze.
Drop the stick if it’s still lit when you get to the next blaze, then interact with the rubble blocking the boathouse entrance to move it.
It’s not over yet, as you’ll need to clear a path for the boat before you can reach it.
How to clear a path for the boat in A Plague Tale Requiem Chapter 5
To clear the path of the boat in Chapter 5 of A Plague Tale: Requiem, you must order Lucas to push the cart away, then enter the hidden hole behind. Clear the corpse blocking the ferry at the end of this path under the boathouse, then climb onto the ferry.
Have Lucas let go of the crank controlling the ferry when Amicia is on it to get to the other boathouse. You should check the place for resources, but to progress and clear the boat’s path, you’ll need to use a stone from your slingshot on the large protruding structure in the middle of the boathouse ceiling.
The boat is now free to move forward, but Amicia and Lucas must figure out how to rejoin the boat again.
How to reach the boat in A Plague Tale Requiem Chapter 5
Before trying to reach the boat, we recommend that you turn around and enter a crawl space under the second boathouse, as there is a chest containing x1 tool, x10 coins and x1 sulfur of the ‘other side.
After opening the chest, turn back and follow the rocky path until you reach a wooden bridge. Explore the left side to locate a cart that you can drive to the wall with white on top.
Hop on the cart and drop down to the next section, then use the rotating lever to bring its wooden platform to the part of the bridge you came from. Let go of the level, then use a rock with your sling to lower a path to the first part of the bridge.
Roll the same cart you used before onto the wooden platform you moved with the rotating lever, then return to the second part of the bridge and use the lever again to bring the platform and cart back to you.
Push the cart to the next wooden wall covered in white and go up to trigger a small cutscene where Amicia finally reaches the boat.
