This week Spotlight hour is all about the Ice Chunk Pokemon, Bergmite. This means that this is an excellent opportunity to look for a perfect Bergmite in Pokemon Go.
While Avalugg, the evolved form of Bergmite, has been used in competitive play in Pokémon Go, it’s only really seen in Master League. And since Bergmite is a relatively rare spawn, usually only seen in winter, and since there hasn’t been a Community Day event, chances are you’re missing out on a perfect 4* Bergmite or 4* Avalugg perfect. If it’s one of your favorite Pokemon, there’s never been a better chance to go catch them all.
Even if you don’t like Bergmite, you should still try to catch as many Pokémon as possible during this week’s Spotlight Hour due to the double candy catch bonus that comes with the event.

Bergmite 100% Perfect IV Stats in Pokémon Go
This week’s Spotlight Hour is a great opportunity to catch a Bergmite with perfect IV stats.
“Perfect” means two things in Pokémon Go, depending on how you plan to use a given Pokémon. First, there’s the 100% Max IV build, which is the 15/15/15 you’re after for your 4* Pokédex, Raids, and Master League. Yet, due to the way CP is calculated using three stats, a perfect Pokémon IV is usually just the best version of itself in the Master League.
Of course, you can’t see a Pokemon’s IV without catching it first, but with a little research beforehand, you can quickly spot a perfect Bergmite based on CP alone.
If you’re level 30 (or higher), you’ll ideally be looking for the following CPs for a perfect 15/15/15 Bergmite:
The wild CP value aligns with your trainer level until you reach level 30, and since the majority of the player base is now above that level, we’ve kept these values for the sake of it. of simplicity. These values will however be different if you are currently below level 30.
Is Avalugg good in PVP?
Avalugg is a very mixed bag in Go Battle League. He’s a decent Ice-type striker in the Master League; but, oddly enough, it’s pretty awful everywhere else, being quickly outclassed by the competition.
If you want to run Avalugg, you ideally consider Ice Fang, Avalanche, and Body Slam as second charged moves.
It’s clearly not the best combo, with the likes of Walrein and Abomasnow leaving Avalugg in the diamond dust. Ice Fang deals heavy damage and Avalanche can deal a lot of damage, but it’s just not as spammy as the rest of the class. Body Slam offers reasonable neutral baits, but it’s just not a move set you can get excited about. If he were to take on a faster move, like Powder Snow, that would be a different conversation — it’s part of the legal move, so hopefully when Bergmite finally gets a community day, we’ll see him climb the rankings.
For now, you better skip Avalugg for the Great League and Ultra League, as they just don’t hold a candle to their icy superiors.
Master League is a whole new ballgame, though. While Abomasnow capped at 2670 CP and Walrein at 3081 CP, a perfect Master League Avalugg proudly stands at a 3615 CP titan, and is right behind Mamoswine, which handles the boring and powerful Powder Snow. This means that if you have a perfect Avalugg and don’t like Cousin It’s evolved form, Avalugg is the way to snow.
With Avalugg’s extreme volume and high pressure from fast moves, you can expect victories against all non-steel dragons, as well as flying types such as Lugia and Gyarados. However, you will lose pretty quickly to Steel-types, as well as Mewtwo, Excadrill, and Zacian.
If you want to try out Avalugg in these leagues, or want to hang in there for a better moveset, you’re looking for the following stats for the respective leagues:
- 2/15/15 for the Great League
- 00/14/15 for Ultra League
- 15/15/15 for the Master League
The Season of Mythic Wishes continues with the Winter Holiday event, which brought Mega Glalie to Pokémon Go. Don’t forget to take part in the new season of Go Battle League. Elsewhere, be sure to use Daily Adventure Incense for the chance to encounter Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres.
Is there Shiny Bergmite in Pokémon Go?
Yes! There is a Brilliant Bergmite in Pokémon Go from this month.
The shiny form of Bergmite was released as part of the Winter Holiday 2022 event.
Although there is no Hisuian Avalugg in the game yet; it will be added to Pokémon Go on Christmas Eve 2022.
What Does Brilliant Bergmite Look Like?
As you can see below, the bright bergmite is very subtle, just swapping its lowlights from the usual off-white for a yellowish tint.
Likewise, the brilliant Avalugg trades its purplish legs and ears for a yellowish-gold color.

- The best reason is, of course, the double take candy bonus
- This bonus also extends to your research rewards. Remember that you don’t need to catch these Pokemon when you complete the task; if you run away, you can “hoard” up to 200 Pokemon for times like this, or when you want to max out a Star Piece or Lucky Egg bonus.
- If you’re a newcomer, this Spotlight Hour is the perfect time to collect enough Bergmite Candy to fully evolve this Pokémon and enter all of its evolutions into the Pokédex.
- Thanks to the fact that Bergmite is Ice-type, catching a group of them during this Spotlight hour will add progress to your respective catch bonus medal.
