How to start Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost, dates explained

Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost 2022 runs from October 18 to November 8starting and ending at the usual weekly reset time.

To participate in the Festival of the Lost, all you need is access to the Tower’s social space. From there, talk to Eva Lavante, who will give you an introductory quest – called Gone but not forgotten – allowing you to unlock Haunted Lost Sectors.

To access the Haunted Lost Sectors, you must first start the “Gone but not Forgotten” quest that Eva Levante gives you in the tower.

Eva will give you a festival of the lost mask. Put it on and talk to him again. You can now cast the Haunted Lost Sector by selecting it through a tower node in your Director.

You can also launch into a Haunted Lost Sector from the tower itself, by investigating the totem next to Eva.

Destiny 2 Gone but not Forgotten quest steps

The Gone but not Forgotten quest will take you to the Haunted Lost Sectors for the first time and walk you through how to flesh out the Book of the Forgotten.

The steps of the Gone but not Forgotten quest are as follows:

1. Talk to Eva to claim your Festival of the Lost mask.



2. Equip the Festival of the Lost mask that Eva gave you.
3. Talk to Eva in the tower.
4. Enter a haunted area through your director’s node. Once there, perform a summoning ritual.
5. Turn Spectral Pages into Manifested Pages by defeating at least one Headless and completing the Lost Sector.
6. Return to Eva to learn more about your manifested pages.
7. Transform your spectral pages into manifested pages.
8. Talk to Eva in the tower.
9. Talk to Eva to claim your rewards.

Eva Levante’s key reward is Mechabre, a new sniper rifle for Festival of the Lost that’s extremely well suited for PVP, due to its quick maneuverability and speed while aiming.

List of Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost 2022 masks

A key attraction at the Festival of the Lost each year is the acquisition of masks. These are ornaments that are equipped on the Masquerade Hood, given to you as part of the Lost But Not Forgotten quest.

While wearing a mask, you’ll earn candy by defeating enemies, completing activities, and bounties. Similar to how you would equip Solstice armor during the Solstice of Heroes event, it’s best to keep the mask equipped for the entire duration to ensure you get drops!

As with previous events, the masks are based on well-known characters and bosses. New masks come out every year, as well as several returning from previous years.

If you’ve saved a mask from a previous year, you can wear it in the last Festival of the Lost event – so be sure to keep it!

There are a total of eight new masks to earn, each with their own criteria to unlock:

• Blueberry Mask – Complete the Lost But Not Forgotten quest.

• Bread Mash – Complete the Haunted Sector playlist activities.

• Caital Mask – Defeat fighters with Arc energy.

• Riven Mask – Complete Ritual Activities including Strikes, Crucible Matches, and Gambit Matches.

• Savathun Mask – Complete 35 Haunted Sectors.

• Earn 17,500 candies from activities.

• Fynch Mask – 300 Silver (available week 9) or 1,200 Bright Dust (available week 11).

• Star Horse Mask – 300 Silver (available week 10) or 1,200 Bright Dust (available week 11).

Destiny 2 Haunted Lost Sectors 2022 Chest Rewards

In addition to unlockable Masks and Triumphs, there are also the following rewards to be earned from chests at the end of Haunted Lost Sector runs:

• Legendary Equipment
• Random Braytech Werewolf Auto Rifle Roll
• Random Horror Story Auto Rifle Rollover
• Random Jurassic Green Pulse Rifle Roll
• Random Mechabre Sniper Rifle Rollover

Unlike in previous years, you don’t need the Cipher Decoder or similar item every time you open a chest!

The season of plunder has arrived! New additions include the Sails of the Shipstealer quest, treasure coordinates and map fragments, cryptic quatrains, and weapons such as the Quicksilver Storm and Taipan 4FR. Meanwhile, there’s the arrival of King’s Fall and King’s Fall challenges such as Devious Theory and Gaze Amaze, as well as weapons such as Doom of Chelchis and Touch of Malice. Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost 2022 Event Challenges

The Festival of Lost Triumphs is gone, replaced now by Event Challenges. These will task you with completing specific tasks around the solar system. In total, there are 17 event challenges to complete, and if you manage to clear them all, you’ll receive the Ghost Writer seal and title.
