How to Get Mindbender’s Ambition in Destiny 2
Mindbender’s Ambition is a weapon exclusive to Nightfall. This means it will only drop at the end of a Nightfall Strike, and only a week where it is the featured weapon in the rotation.
When Mindbender’s Ambition is up in the rotation, it can drop from the chest after a success. There’s a chance he’ll fall, but there’s no guarantee he’ll be there on an individual attempt. All you can do is face the Nightfall repeatedly.
Whether the weapon drops is a matter of luck, but you have the ability to tip the scales in your favor. Increasing the difficulty also increases the Nightfall weapon’s drop chance, from Rare at the lowest difficulty to Common at the highest.
You can also equip the Ghost mod Prosperity (Vanguard). This gives Playlist Strikes and Nightfalls a chance to drop additional Legendary gear upon completion. This has never been confirmed to include the Nightfall weapons themselves, but anecdotally it seems to have an effect.
Season of Defiance is here alongside the We Stand Unbroken quest. You can also unlock two new weapons – the Vexcaliber and Deterministic Chaos – by completing The Variable and Unfinished Business. Don’t forget to keep an eye on the rotation schedule for the Lost Sector and King’s Fall challenges!
Mindbender’s Ambition god roll recommendation in Destiny 2
Mindbender’s Ambition is best used in PVE, where its Solar damage and perk selection work well against tough enemies, and it excels as part of a Scorch build.
here is our Recommended Mindbender’s Ambition god roll in Destiny 2:
- Smooth bore
- Assault Magazine
- Threat detector
- Incandescent
- Superb recovery
Smooth bore tackles the main drawback of shotguns: range. You still won’t be able to fire with it, but extending Mindbender’s Ambition lethal damage is only a good thing.
Assault Magazine is two advantages in one. First, it increases stability. Considering how hard a shotgun fires, anything that helps line up follow-up shots is great. Second, it increases your rate of fire. This weapon is a slow heavy hitter. Slower means more heavy hitting.
Threat detector is an ideal perk on shotguns. This increases reloading, stability, and maneuverability when enemies are close, which is the only time you will use this weapon.
Incandescent is a great advantage, especially for solar subclasses. Defeating a target spreads the burn, which deals damage over time, to nearby enemies. Combine that with Solar 3.0’s abilities that feed off burns and lead to explosive enemy ignitions and you have a recipe for quickly burning large groups down in no time.
Superb recovery is one of two selectable original traits. None of the options are exceptional, but Stunning Recovery is excellent in certain situations. With it, stunning a champion will partially refill your magazine, increase recovery, and trigger health regeneration. It’s very situational, but fighting Champions is exactly the kind of situation where it’s nice to have an advantage.
As usual, once you have your favorite jet, be sure to upgrade it to a Masterwork to give it a stat boost, the ability to generate orbs on multiple kills, and add the option of a kill tracker!
