How to Get Riptide in Destiny 2
Riptide is a Crucible weapon, strictly outside of Destiny 2’s main PVP mode. It’s randomly rewarded at the end of matches, so you’ll need to play the Trial and be lucky if you want a Riptide.
There are several things you can do to tip the scales in your favor. First, you can equip the crucible version of the Prosperity Ghost Mod on your Ghost. When enabled, Crucible kills have a chance to drop an additional legendary piece of gear. This applies to both armor and weapons like Riptide.
Rewards drop as matches end, so focusing on faster match types can give you more chances at Riptide for your time invested. Mayhem and Scorch, in particular, tend to end quickly.
Season of the Seraph is here alongside More Than a Weapon, Seraph Key Codes and Resonate Stems and the addition of Rose in Crucible. You can also complete the Good Boy Protocol secret quest to make a new friend. We also saw a new dungeon, Spire of the Watcher, with a chance of the Hierarchy of Needs dropping at the end. Earlier this year we had the arrival of the King’s Fall and King’s Fall challenges, as well as weapons such as Doom of Chelchis and Touch of Malice. For The Witch Queen, find out how to get Dead Messenger and Parasite.
Riptide God Roll recommendation in Destiny 2
Riptide is most effective when quickly unloading its full burst of fusion fire on an enemy, whether PVP or PVE.
The best Riptide, or ‘god roll’, is a secondary weapon that can quickly and accurately unleash its full burst of damage before switching back to other weapons.
The best combination of advantages, or “god roll”, will be different for different situations and players. However, some combinations should produce consistently excellent results.
Here is our best recommended Riptide god roll in Destiny 2:
- Corkscrew
- Accelerated coils
- Self-loading case
- cooling clip
Adding scope and manipulation is useful, but what does Corkscrew a hit for Riptide is the increased stability. This will help ensure that all shots from a burst hit their target accurately, a must for effective use.
The role of Accelerated coils is simple: make this weapon fire faster. There is a small damage drop, but the usefulness of this pales in comparison to rapid fire, and Riptide still hits a lot even with the damage drop.
A fusion rifle should be used in situation, with your other weapon handling most of the action. Self-loading case is perfect for this, as you can fire your primary weapon, switch to Riptide for a big burst of damage, and backtrack to find your other weapon fully loaded and ready for action.

As usual, once you have your favorite jet, be sure to upgrade it to a Masterwork to give it a stat boost, the ability to generate orbs on multiple kills, and add the option of a kill tracker!
