The dead space remake tweaks some gameplay, but often keeps things familiar, like the Centrifuge Puzzle in Chapter 3.
If you’ve never tried it or can’t remember the puzzle solution, it might be a bit tricky to solve, as there’s no waypoint to guide you or clear instructions on what to do.
To speed things up, we’ve detailed exactly how to activate the juicer in the dead space by attaching the clutch generator modules. The same general method applies to the original, but the images and locations below are from the remake.
How to activate the centrifuge in dead space by attaching clutch generator modules
The two clutch generator modules are the metal “arms” above the rails attached to the spinner in the middle of the room. They are identifiable by the magnet symbol
However, if you try to do it alone, you will only get a few sparks and the clutch generator module will drop out. It’s a little harder to spot in the remake thanks to all the detail in the piece, but that’s because the arm rotates.
To stop the rotation of the clutch generator modules and activate the centrifuge in Dead Space Remake you must use your other Kinesis power to slow arm first, then use your Kinesis to move it into the spinner. It should now stay in place, unless your Kinesis ran out before placing it. If this happens, try again.
To slow down with Kinesis, while aiming, press “Y” on Xbox controllers or Triangle on PlayStation. To move with Kinesis, while aiming, press “B” on Xbox or Circle on PlayStation.
You need to attach both clutch generator modules this way.
If you need to recharge your Statis, return to the door leading to the elevator shaft, just to the left of where you first entered the room, near the mass of grime blocking the walkway.
Once you’ve attached both Clutch Generator Mods, you can finally activate the Centrifuge by going to the blocked elevator shaft across the room from the one with the Stasis Refill, and pressing the prompt at the end. screen for “Restart centrifuge”.
Now that you have activated the centrifuge, your next task is to turn on the motors. To get you on the right track, turn around and take the elevator behind you. You’ll then need to time your run to the left so you don’t get hit by the newly activated machines.
Take the elevator back and exit the area, but watch out for necromorphs on your way. When you start getting oxygen again, a big enemy will grab you and start dragging you. To get him to stop dragging Issac, you need to shoot his big glowing bag. We recommend using the Pulse Rifle for this, but any weapon should eventually fire it.
Follow the marker past the decontamination room and the freight elevator to find your way back to the main Chapter 3 room. The door to turn on the engines will now be open.
