What is Hands Off in Destiny 2?
There is one rule in the Hands Off challenge: No Guardian can kill the same Barley or Light Eater Knight twice.
There is no reset, this requirement is enforced for the entire boss fight, and a single mistake will cause the challenge to fail.
There’s a lot going on during this boss fight, and it’s hard to keep track of who killed which can be tricky. It’s worth it, as a success will earn you two chests.
The Festival of the Lost 2022 is here! With it comes the arrival of the Mechabre. Elsewhere in Season of Plunder we have the Sails of the Shipstealer quest, Treasure Coordinates and Map Fragments, Cryptic Quatrains, and weapons such as Quicksilver Storm and Taipan 4FR. Meanwhile, there’s the arrival of the King’s Fall and King’s Fall challenges, as well as weapons such as Doom of Chelchis and Touch of Malice. For The Witch Queen, find out how to get Exotics including Dead Messenger and Parasite.
Tips for completing Hands Off in Destiny 2
The Hands of Challenge terms for the Oryx fight are simple: a Guardian cannot kill the same Ogre Knight or Light Eater twice. This is easily accomplished by following a rotation similar to the Daughters of Oryx strategy.
Four players will be assigned plaques. During the encounter, an Ogre will spawn near each, and a Light Eater Knight will spawn on the opposite corner of the same end of the map. Only the player assigned to a plate can kill his Ogre and his Knight. After the damage phase, have everyone turns to take possession of a new plate
Floaters will need to be ready to step in if a plate carrier is torn between dimensions and unable to kill their ogre and knight. Repeat this until Oryx falls and the last potential weekly challenge is complete.
The floats will need to coordinate with each other to ensure they are not holding the same plate twice. If three damage phases are needed to kill Oryx, it’s possible that both floats filled up on the same plate, so each member of the fireteam should keep track of their own kills and be ready to respond. if this happens.
Doing this well requires excellent communication. Players should call when torn between dimensions and floats should fill up quickly. It helps to have floats acting as captains, with the rest of the team following their lead. Floaters must announce when they fill in to cover a Knight or Ogre, and call for help when filling in on the same platform for the second time.
