Royal Guard Armor Explained
When upgraded, the Royal Guard armor set in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gives the “Charge Atk”. The Stamina Up set bonus, which means Link’s stamina consumed by charged attacks is reduced when equipping all three pieces of the set.
Armor can be upgraded up to four times in a large fairy fountain. Each time you upgrade a piece of Royal Guard armor, it increases its defense stat and makes the piece or pieces stronger.

How to Get the Royal Guard Uniform in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
There are two ways to get the Royal Guard Uniform in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom:
- Buy from Cece’s shop
- Open a chest in the guard room of Hyrule Castle
Cece’s shop
The Royal Guard Uniform costs 2,200 rupees from Cece’s main shop in Hateno Village, but you must first complete the long side adventure “Mayor’s Election” before it becomes available for purchase .
Since it’s quite expensive and you need to complete a lot of side quests before it’s available in Cece’s shop, you might just want to find the chest containing the Royal Guard Uniform instead.
Hyrule Castle
The Royal Guard Uniform can be found for free in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Hyrule Castle’s guard room. It’s on the west side of the castle, between the west passage and the first gatehouse.
The exact the coordinates of the chest containing the royal guard uniform are (-0409, 0853, 0075.)
There are a few ways to get to Hyrule Castle, but the easiest ways we’ve found to get to the Guard’s Chamber is to fast travel to Serutabomac Shrine, launch yourself from the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower and glide if you have enough stamina, or heading north from Lookout Landing towards Hyrule Castle.
If using the last method, after reaching Hyrule Castle, go through the main gates and look up (-0254, 0665, 0047). You will be able to see a ledge with what looks like carved stone windows above it. You can see this area in the image below.
Climb up and enter through the balcony to get to the Hyrule Castle Observation Room. All you have to do now is head west through the castle, towards the entrance to the guard room through the dungeon-like hallways.
The chest containing the Royal Guard’s uniform is on a ledge just across the stairs in the Guards’ Chamber.
However, it’s surrounded by Gloom, so to get to it, you need to climb the wall via the broken staircase, then merge the two wooden planks together to create a bridge to the chest.
Another way to get to the Guards’ Chamber is to go to the end of the Royal Hidden Passage and then up/up your way to Hyrule Castle. This passage also contains possible diamond locations and all of the Soldier’s armor set pieces, so you’ll definitely want to travel this way if you want to collect all of the armor sets.

(-0236, 0157, 0004). Next, complete the “Who goes there?” section. side quest picked up from Jerrin, the woman constantly brushing the ground.
How to Get Royal Guard Boots in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
The royal guard boots in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can be found in the king’s office in Hyrule Castle Library. The entrance to the library is directly below Serutabomac Shrine on the northeast side of Hyrule Castle.
The exact the coordinates of the chest containing the Royal Guard Boots are (-0174, 1122, 0214).
We recommend finding Serutabomac Shrine first, as it’s a great landmark to look out for when searching the library. The exact coordinates of Serutabomac Shrine are (-0180, 1170, 0280).
From the shrine, jump north and head to the stone entrance and down the stairs. Then jump off the balcony as you enter the library, turn around, and use Ultrahand on the library to push it aside, revealing the king’s study.
Open the chest in front of the shield to get the Royal Guard Boots.
How to get the royal guard cap in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
The cap of the royal guard in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is in in Zelda’s room in Hyrule Castle. It’s just west of the Sanctum area right in the middle of the castle.
The exact the coordinates of the chest containing the cap of the royal guard are (-0331, 1005, 0300.)
The easiest way we found to get to Zelda’s room was to go to the back on the other side of the library, where the Royal Guard boots are, then use Ascend to get you there. as close to the Sanctum as possible. Then you can jump and climb to the shrine entrance (-0250, 0956, 0334).
After entering the shrine, immediately turn left and exit through the window. You will see a tower ahead on your right – this is Zelda’s study. You can go there first for some good gear, then cross the walkway outside to get to the chest in Zelda’s room – but be careful! The catwalk collapses after walking on it for the first time.
Now that you’ve found all three pieces of the Royal Guard Armor, you might want to search for the Frostbite Armor Set or the Rubber Armor Set.
