How to Find Shiny Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
Shiny Pokémon make rare appearances in all biomes of the Hisui region of Pokémon Legends: Arceus. You can even find a shiny Alpha Pokemon if luck is really on your side.
Unlike many past Pokemon titles, a Shiny Pokemon’s different coloring is visible outside of battle, so it’s easy to tell if you’ve found one. A brief flickering effect, accompanied by a sound effect, will also occur when you first spot the Pokemon, and a glowing icon will appear next to its name.
When you find a shiny Pokémon, we strongly recommend that you quickly save your game so that you can reload if the Pokémon escapes.
If you plan to go on a shiny hunt, especially for a particular Pokemon, we recommend increasing your shiny odds by reaching perfect level on their Pokédex entry and witnessing any massive or massive outbreaks that occur for that Pokemon. .
As mentioned, shiny Pokemon are rare and hunting one in particular can take a long time. Unless you’re looking for a Shiny Ponyta, because an encounter with that Shiny is guaranteed by undertaking Request 19 – A Peculiar Ponyta.
There is, however, a way to increase your shiny odds for every Pokemon you encounter in Legends: Arceus…
Shiny odds for Pokémon Legends: Arceus explained
Shiny odds, also known as shiny rates, refer to your chance of finding a shiny Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Each Pokémon species has its own set of shiny ratings which is affected by five different factors:
- Whether you have the Shiny Charm
- Whether you catch Pokemon during a massive outbreak for that species
- Whether you catch Pokemon during a massive mass outbreak for that species
- Obtain research level 10 for a specific Pokémon’s Pokédex entry
- Obtain a perfect Pokédex Entry by completing all research tasks for a specific Pokédex Entry
It’s important to note that by the time you’ve obtained the Shiny Charm, you’ll also have at least Research Level 10 for every Pokémon in the Hisui Pokédex, so at this point those two factors will still be in effect. .
thank’s for Sibuna_Switch from Twitter for this helpful chart that explains the current shiny ratings in Pokémon Legends: Arceus after the Daybreak update (v 1.1.0):
Pokémon Legends: Arceus v 1.1.0 (Daybreak) introduces Massive Massive Outbreaks, which are widespread outbreaks on a map. They have a slightly higher shine rate than regular wild Pokémon.

How to Get the Shining Charm in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
The Shiny Charm will increase your chances of finding Shiny Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and to get it you must reach Research Level 10 for every Pokémon in the Hisui Pokédex.
When an entry reaches research level 10, it receives a Poké Ball stamp next to its name in the Pokédex, so it’s easy to determine which entries you need to work on.
It is also important to remember that you do not do must have perfect Pokédex entries – where you have completed all available research tasks for a Pokemon – to receive the Shiny Charm.
However, having a perfect Pokédex entry for a Pokémon will increase that specific creature’s shine rate, so if you’re looking for a particular shine, it’s a good idea to completely complete its entry.
After getting research level 10, talk to Professor Laventon in the biome you are currently in. He will realize that the Pokédex is finally complete and will take you back to the galactic headquarters of Jubilife Village.
Here, after watching a cutscene, you will receive the Shiny Charm. If, however, Laventon hasn’t given you the other two Legends: Arceus starter Pokemon yet, you’ll get a short cutscene where he does first.
The charm itself can then be found in the Key Items section of your inventory, but there is no need to equip it as you will automatically receive the bonus it now provides!
Our Pokémon Legends Arceus walkthrough will help you choose a starter Pokémon and win the Kleavor boss fight. You are also tasked with completing the Hisui Pokédex by getting new evolutions like Kleavor by evolving Scyther, Wyrdeer by evolving Stantler, Sneasler by evolving Hisui Sneasel, and Overquil by evolving Hisui Qwilfish. There are a host of new evolution methods, including those for Eevee evolutions. Also take the time to complete requests, such as The Sea’s Legend, Wurmple’s Evolved! and find the Wisp locations. Don’t forget to search all Unown locations as well.
Shiny Locked Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
Shiny Locked Pokémon refer to Pokémon whose shiny forms are unobtainable in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
All Pokémon you obtain through static encounters are locked to shiny; this includes the Alpha Pokemon you encounter through the main campaign, as well as all Legendary and Mythical Pokemon. If you want a shiny legendary or mythic, like a shiny Cresselia, you’ll need to use hacks.
You can, however, get shiny forms of the starter Pokemon by hunting them down in Space-Time Distortions. Meanwhile, if you want a shiny Unown, you must first complete the Unown Research Notes by tracking down all 28 Unown locations in the Hisui region.
Once you’ve completed this task, visit the Solaceon Ruins in the Crimson Mirelands to find a collection of wild Unowns. If you’re lucky, one of them might be shiny!
Here are all of the Shiny Locked Pokémon, ranked in Hisui Pokédex order, in Pokémon Legends: Arceus:
