How to get the grappling hook in Enshrouded
First of all, you need to craft a workbench to get the grappl ing hook in Enshrouded
Twine can be crafted with x3 plant fibers, found in chests, or collected as loot from settlements and ruins (be sure to smash pots and boxes here for the chance to get more twine).
Once you have placed a workbench in your camp, select it then choose the grappling hook. HAS make the grappling hook on a workbench you need:
Metal Scrap is found in loot after killing Scavenger enemies, destroying metal-containing items, in chests, and tends to be found on workbenches in abandoned settlements and ruins. Try to destroy the white boxes for the best chance of getting metal scraps.
The best way to obtain Shroud Spores is to kill the humanoid enemies in the Shroud – those with blue eyes and skeleton-like bodies. They typically carry a sword and shield and each drop two Shroud spores.
Now that you’ve made the grappling hook, it’s time to put it into action!
How to use the grappling hook in Enshrouded
You can only use the grappling hook at special points in the environment, or if you craft pull anchors and swing anchors at your base.
As you explore, keep an eye out for shiny metal anchors in the environment: these are the special points where you can use your grappling hook to cross gaps, like the ones found on Braelyn’s Bridge at the start of the game. Next, just press the button that appears when you’re close enough to the anchor to use the grappling hook and switch (“E” on the keyboard or “Y” with an Xbox controller).
Make sure manually equip the grappling hook on your character in the pause menu, because you won’t be able to use it if it’s only in your inventory. You can also assign the Grappling Hook to your hotbar and it will automatically equip it on your character.
How to get the upgraded grappling hook in Enshrouded
Go get the recipe for the upgraded grappling hook you first need to find the carpenter at the Anceint Vault – Carpenter waypoint, which is directly east of your starting base.
Once you find it, use the summoning staff to place the carpenter at your base, unequip your character’s standard grappling hook, then talk to the carpenter to craft the upgraded grappling hook with:
- Shroud Core x1
- Shroud Liquid x2
- Shroud Spores x3
Shroud Cores can be crafted by the Alchemist with x10 Shroud Spores and x10 Shroud Fluid, or found as loot after killing Wraith enemies in Shroud Zones, which tend to wander around Elixir Wells.
Shroud Liquid is obtained by cutting large mushroom-like objects in Shroud Zones or by scavenging for eggs that grow on the ground in Shroud Zones.
I hope you enjoy using the grappling hook!
