How to help defeat Darth Vader in Fortnite

Darth Vader is back in Fortnite as part of the ongoing Star Wars tie-in.

The “Find the Force” event runs until May 23 in Fortnite and now gives players a chance to help defeat Darth Vader.

Here’s how to help defeat Darth Vader, and what you will get for it. Also, some info on the lightsaber that Darth Vader drops when defeated.

How to help defeat Darth Vader in Fortnite

To help defeat Darth Vader in Fortnite, you will first need to find him. It can be found northwest of Brutal Bastion, near the gas station. You can see it marked on the map below:

Head to this location and you’ll find Darth Vader, surrounded by Clone Troopers. These will start attacking as soon as they spot you. Luckily, there are Republic chests in nearby huts, where you can get the DC-15 blasters. The problem with this challenge is that to complete it, you just need to damage Darth Vader’s health bar. It doesn’t matter if you weren’t the one to defeat him, as long as you dealt damage to him.

The main things to keep in mind here are that, firstly, Darth Vader will be chasing you, and it’s actually quite a difficult boss fight. He’ll basically jump and warp afterwards, and can use Force Push and Force Pull to throw you. He’ll also throw his lightsaber at you, so it’s best to fight from a significant distance whenever possible. Second, it will be an extremely busy drop-off location. For this reason, it is recommended to drop with a full team or do damage and then leave the area for someone else to kill Darth Vader.

What do you get for defeating Darth Vader in Fortnite?

For helping defeat Darth Vader in Fortnite, you’ll earn 200 Galactic Reputation Points, which will unlock items in the Find the Force Battle Pass section.

Additionally, Darth Vader will drop his lightsaber when defeated. This is a unique weapon that can be thrown by holding aim and then pressing fire. It has a very short cooldown and can do a lot of damage. Outside of this ability, Darth Vader’s lightsaber behaves like any other.
