Investigate the courtyard down the hall is a quest objective in the “Silent Seeker of Knowledge” portion of the “Through Mists of Smoke and Forests Dark” Archon Quest in Genshin Impact.
Although it may seem like an easy task, there is actually a small puzzle located in this courtyard that you must complete to progress through the story.

How to Investigate the Courtyard Down the Hall in Genshin Impact
When revisiting Haypasia during the Archon quest “Through the smoky mists and dark forests”, the traveler will be sucked into some kind of realm and will have to explore the strange place during the new quest section “Silent Seeker of Knowledge “.
About halfway through “Silent Seeker of Knowledge”, after going through the yellow door at the top of the large tree, you’ll find yourself in a yard with a locked door to your left. This locked door has a yellow symbol on it, which you must recreate by solving the puzzle in this room.
To continue your “Silent Seeker of Knowledge” quest and investigate the courtyard down the hall, you must step on the yellow glow at the end of the yard and move your camera so that the two symbols on the rocks in front of you line up.

Once you’ve lined up the two symbols on the rocks so they match the symbol on the locked door, you can go through the door and onto the platform at the end of this hallway to continue your quest – but be careful, for you’ll soon have to fight an Abyss Herald.
