Open a lock using a key and a safe in one match is one of the weekly challenges in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4.
This can be tricky if you don’t know where to look, especially since safes are usually hidden in Fortnite.
Completing this challenge will reward you with 20k XP, which will help you unlock more Battle Pass skins.

How to open a lock with a key in Fortnite
To open a lock with a key in Fortnite, you have two main options. The first is to search for locked weapon crates. These are marked on your map after you collect a key and are always marked with a single padlock. For reference, they are still in Tilted Towers. You can use keys on these locks to complete the first challenge requirement.
The second (and recommended) method is to unlock a safe, whether it’s one or two Key Vaults found around the map. To do this, land anywhere on the map and search for a key. Keys can be found anywhere as floor loot or in chests. Now, for the method we’ll use to complete the challenge, you’ll want to find two keys if possible.
Once you’ve collected at least one key, you’ll find chest locations marked on your map. You can also use the embedded map above to locate the nearest vault. Note that some chests require two keys, and since these tend to contain safes as well, that’s what you’ll want to aim for.
Once in a safe, unlock it using your keys. This will complete the first part of the challenge.

How to find and unlock a safe
Safes can be hidden all over the map, so finding them can be tricky. Fortunately, most of the two key safes have them locked inside. This is the recommended place to find safes for now.
Once you find one, just interact with it and wait for the animation to complete. You will get a big chunk of gold for your troubles. Unlocking a safe will then complete the “open a padlock with a key, then a safe in a single match” challenge. You will be rewarded with 20k XP.
