The arrival of Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer is almost here, following the early release of the digital pre-order campaign.
As with the campaign, the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer release time differs depending on whether you’re on PC or console – as well as the region you’re based in.
The good news is that wherever you are and whatever platform you choose, you’ll be able to get your hands on Multiplayer and Special Ops by Friday morning.

Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer release time on PlayStation and Xbox
On PlayStation and Xbox, Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer departures at midnight local time
The exception is in North America, where it will be released everywhere once it hits midnight on the East Coast – meaning for those on the West Coast, it will launch at 9pm on Thursday.
Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer release time on PC
On PC, Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer is live at the same time all over the world – alignment with midnight on the east coast of the United States.
This means that Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer times on PC are as follows:
- UK: 5am (BST)
- Europe: 6am (EST)
- US East Coast: 12:01 a.m. (EDT)
- United States West Coast: 9 p.m., Thursday (PDT)
That means if you’re in the western Americas, you’ll technically be playing on Thursday, October 27.
Meanwhile, for those in Europe, you’ll be able to play first thing in the morning.
Modern Warfare 2 preload times
As with the multiplayer release itself, the preload time differs depending on your platform of choice.
On consoles – be it Xbox or PlayStation – you can start preloading now.
On PC, you can start preloading at the following times on Wednesday, October 26:
- UK: 6:00 p.m. (BST)
- Europe: 7 p.m. (EST)
- US East Coast: 1 p.m. (EDT)
- United States West Coast: 10:00 a.m. (PDT)
