Large Katanas are one of eight new weapon types introduced in Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. These large and heavy swords are very powerful, and there are a total of three large Katanas to be found in different parts of Shadow of the Erdtree.

Excellent location Katana
Location: West of the troubled Abandoned Village in Gravesite Plain, you can collect it from a corpse next to the Ghostflame dragon.
Skill: ‘Aerial position‘ – a skill that begins with the blade held high in a ready position. Perform a normal attack from this stance to move forward and strike downward, or a power attack to deliver a series of downward slashes.
Excellent Katana stats:
- Attack power: Physical +145, Critical +100
- Requires: 14 Strength, 18 Dexterity
- Scale with: Strength (D), Dexterity (D)
- Weight: 9.0
- Passive effect: Accumulating Blood Loss (55)
Dragon-Hunter’s Great Katana Location
Location: In the Dragon Pit, in the Gravesite Plain. To claim this Great Katana, you will need to defeat the boss of this dungeon, the Ancient Dragon-Man.
Skill: ‘Dragon Wound Size‘ – a skill designed to hunt colossal dragons, which envelops the weaponry in an aura of jagged gravel before performing a high jump. You can also charge the attack to trigger the aura.
Dragon Slayer Great Katana Stats:
- Attack power: Physical +152, Critical +100
- Requires: 15 Strength, 20 Dexterity
- Scale with: Strength (D), Dexterity (D)
- Skill: Dragon Wound Size
- Weight: 10.5
- Passive effect: Accumulating Blood Loss (55)
Rakshasa’s Great Katana Location
Location: The unnamed eastern mausoleum of Scadu Altus. You will need to defeat his boss Rakshasa to obtain this Great Katana.
Skill: ‘Grass trimmer‘ – a skill that performs horizontal, scythe-like movements with the sword, cutting enemies as if they were weeds. Additional inputs allow the attack to continue for as long as stamina remains.
Rakshasa Great Katana Stats:
- Attack power: Physical +155, Critical +100
- Requires: 12 Strength, 27 Dexterity
- Scale with: Strength (E), Dexterity (C)
- Weight: 9.5
- Passive effect: Causes accumulation of blood loss (55)
