This week Star time This is the Pokémon Roly-Poly. No, not Rolycoly, we’re obviously referring to Togedemaru. With a Pokédex number of 777, we’re honestly a little surprised that this isn’t the Lucky Pokémon – somehow, it doesn’t exist.
So yes, that means it’s the perfect opportunity to catch a Togedemaru In Pokémon Go!
Catching as many balls as possible is the plan for this week’s Spotlight Hour—both because of the chance to hunt a shiny PVP Pokémon in Pokémon Go and because of the double Stardust catch bonus that’s running alongside the event.

Togedemaru’s 100% Perfect IV Stats in Pokémon Go
This week’s Spotlight Hour is a great opportunity to grab a Togedemaru with perfect IV stats.
Of course, “perfect” means two things in Pokémon Go. First, there’s the maxed-out, 100% IV version, which is the 15/15/15 you’re looking for in your 4* Pokédex, raids, and Master League. However, because of the way CP is calculated using three stats, a perfect IV Pokémon is only ever the best version of itself in the Master League.
Of course, you can’t see a Pokémon’s IV without catching it first, but with a little research beforehand, you can quickly spot a perfect Togedemaru based on CP alone.
If you are level 30 (or above), you will ideally be looking for the following CPs for a perfect Togedemaru 15/15/15:
Wild CP value is your Trainer Level until you reach Level 30, and since the majority of players are now above that level, we’ve kept these values for simplicity. These values will be different if you’re currently below Level 30, however.
Is Togedemaru good at PVP?
Yeah, actually, it’s not bad. After the Pokémon we’ve seen this month, it’s a nice change!
Running Thunder Clash, Thunder Sting and Wild ChargeThis spammy Pokémon offers shield pressure and momentum, as Fell Stinger will boost your attack by one stage with each attack. Just be aware that Wild Charge will wipe out your defense – since Togedemaru lacks the mass of its peers, you’ll hardly need this attack anymore.
In the Great League, this means victories against impressive Pokémon, including Skarmory, Azumarill, Lickitung, Vigoroth, and Annihilape. Losses will come from Quagsire, Shadow Gligar, Shadow Whiscash, Charjabug, and Bastiodon. Overall, this is easily a top-five Electric-type in this meta, and roughly on par with Lanturn.
As for the Ultra League, you can expect wins against Charizard, Jellicent, Tapu Fini, Talonflame, and Poliwrath. Losses come from Virizion, Cobalion, Steelix, Giratina Altered, and Cresselia. This is a much worse run of matchups, and it’s worth noting that Togedemaru doesn’t hit the CP cap, reaching 2442 CP with a perfect 15/15/15 score.
So Togedemaru is going to be horrible in Master League.
The Season of Shared Skies has arrived! The Force of Steel event is currently happening in Pokémon Go. Go Fest 2024 may be over, but you can still play with the fusion mechanic. In the meantime, ticket holders can complete Go Fest 2024: A Shadowy Caper and The Dusk Settles. Don’t forget to try out Routes, Gift Exchange, and Party Play as you hunt for rare Pokémon, battle in the Go Battle League, or participate in PokéStop Showcases.
Is there a shiny Togedemaru in Pokémon Go?
Unfortunately not, there is no shiny Togedemaru in Pokémon Go!
Keep in mind, of course, that this is not a Community Day and shiny rates are not being increased. Even if there was a shiny Togedemaru in the game, the chances of catching one would be incredibly low.
What does the Shiny Togedemaru look like?
When it finally comes to market, the Shiny Togedemaru won’t be talked about much, let alone talked about. The gray of its body is simply replaced by a mouse brown.
It’s such a subtle shiny that it’s very, very hard to see. Luckily, in Pokémon Go, there’s a little icon to let you know you’re looking at the rare variant. When it does release, be sure to keep an eye out for that icon and its associated particle effect!

Other reasons to catch as many Pokémon as possible
Besides trying to catch a perfect poly in Pokémon Go, there are a few other reasons to participate in this week’s Spotlight Hour.
- The best reason is, of course, the Double Capture Stardust Bonus running throughout the hour. The base rate of 100 Stardust per capture, meaning that each Morelull capture is worth 200 Stardust.
- If the weather in Pokémon Go is in your favor (in this case rainy or snowy), you will get double the normal weather bonus (50 extra Stardust).
- This all stacks with a Star Piece to give a 1.5x multiplier to all Stardust earned.
- Since Togedemaru is an Electric/Steel-type, catching a group during this Spotlight Hour will add progress to your respective Capture Bonus Medals.
Spotlight Hour events only last for one hour, from 6pm to 7pm (local time). Next month’s Spotlight Hour events have not yet been announced, but check back next week for a sneak peek at what’s in store.
Good luck finding a perfect Togedemaru Pokémon!
