Tremendous Enemies in Rise of the Ronin Explained
Formidable enemy is a specific type of enemy you find in certain locations and missions in Rise of the Ronin. You can identify them by the symbol above their head which has two stripes, but one tall and one thin
Enemies in the game are divided into categories from regular enemies with one or two pinstripes to named enemies that are fugitives, a type of miniboss, or the main antagonists you face during the main quest. With this system, you can evaluate the best course of action to take when approaching these enemies.
Here are some tips for dealing with formidable enemies:
- Assess the situation and see if there are more enemies with the target.
- Look for the weakest enemies (one or two thin stripes) and finish them off first.
- If possible, stab them in the back or use the grappling hook to take a good chunk of their health.
Now, to find the formidable enemies in missions where killing them is the optional objective, you have to think outside the box and think outside the box. The missions have a fairly clear path that you must follow if you want to achieve the main objective. However, if you explore the entire region, you will find hidden areas or accessible places outside the main area. In the next section we give you an example of how to search for formidable enemies.
Curtain falls, curtain rises Formidable enemy locations
The Curtain Falls, Curtain Rises mission is unlocked once you complete the mission. Your reward is in the cave quest.
To access the cave, you must first arrive in Ishikawa while working on the quest “The Bridge to Yokohama”. Part of the mission tasks you with defeating a group of thugs who have taken over a small village. Once this part is over, the village chief sends you to a cave where the bandits keep their loot.
After leaving the cave, the Eccentric Ronin, an NPC you will meet during the quest, invites you to help him face the bandit leader.
Once the mission begins, there is no specific order to follow to defeat the formidable enemies. However, you must kill all three of them before fighting the bandit leader.
You can find the first Formidable Foe right at the start of the mission. Follow the path in front of you, go up the stairs, but, instead of going through the gate, go left. You will find a short path that will take you to a small area where one of the formidable enemies is located.
Now to find the second formidable enemy you need to return to the gate and follow the path taking care of the enemies in this initial area. Continue forward and you eventually reach some stairs that lead you to a larger building. In one of the rooms of the building you will find the formidable enemy you are looking for..
There are a few enemies in the same room, so be careful. To fight this formidable enemy, you can enter the building and try to lure enemies to finish them off. You can climb the ceiling, enter the building through a hole and attack them from above or you can go around the building and open the door to the exact room where this enemy is. As there are several paths to enter the building, it is up to you to decide which strategy you will use to approach this enemy.
The third Formidable Foe is on the other side of the building, where the second one is. To reach where they are, head up the stairs as shown in the image below and use the grappling hook. You will find a second grappling hook interaction point in a tree between the original building and the new area. Cross over to find the last formidable enemy.
After defeating all three, you can fight the bandit leader and complete the quest.
