The PlayStation 5 console can celebrate the milestone of 50 million units sold.
Sony is celebrating a new milestone with the PlayStation 5. According to a report in the Financial Times, the console has sold more than 50 million units.
The mark was reached on December 9th, around 161 weeks after its launch. For comparison: the PlayStation 4 took 160 weeks.
The company is also reporting the best Black Friday yet for the PS5. A total of 25 million consoles are expected to be sold in the current financial year.
Eric Lempel, senior vice president for global marketing, sales and business operations at SIE said: “Given the momentum we had in November and what we are seeing in December, we feel very good about sales overall .”
