Welcome to Dark Quest 3, out today on Xbox! Let’s move on to some game tips!
your first run
Your starting heroes in Dark Quest 3 are the barbarian, dwarf, archer and sorcerer. How you assign your hero upgrades has a big impact on how far you get on each run. You should start by putting a spike on one of the dwarf’s barrels. This is a secondary action, meaning you can still perform an attack action afterwards.
The barrels will draw attention and be attacked by monsters. All monsters have a preferred target (closest, lowest health, highest health, those in a row). The keg must still comply with these rules.
The Barbarian Throwing Ax is essentially a ranged attack. Make sure you put a dot there shortly after.
Next comes the archer with his surprise attack. The Archer shoots at a random enemy at the start of a battle. This attack benefits from all equipment and modifiers.
Finally, you’ll need some AOE. One of the strongest cards in the game, Wizard Thunderstorm kills multiple enemies when it levels up, especially if you’re wearing some rings of power.
General Strategies
- Don’t waste your reroll on meaningless events. If a hero gets poisoned or takes 1 damage, just accept it. Instead, save rerolls for higher-impact events, such as B. losing a hero for a few turns or high damage.
- In combat, always perform your secondary actions first to gain an advantage.
- If you waste your rerolls, it’s only a matter of time before you’re killed by a dice roll.
- Make sure your heroes’ health isn’t too low. You cannot 100% control what happens in combat or during maps. When a hero has 1-3 life points, expect impending death! Use your health potion when heroes’ health drops to a critical level, otherwise keep its charges.
- Unlocking new heroes is crucial. Many of the imprisoned heroes are overpowered and can easily lead you to glory.
heroes
Barbarian: A good all-round hero that can take some damage and deal a lot of damage as well.
Dwarf: The best hero for keeping enemies busy with barrels and keeping your party out of harm’s way.
Archer: This is a high damage hero, perhaps the hero that can deal the most damage in a single attack. Also boasts an underrated dodge card that allows you to completely dodge an incoming attack.
Wizard: Strong AOE and Utility cards. A lightning storm will kill many enemies at once, as will a tornado if you can line up the enemies. Don’t underestimate the caster’s basic attack combined with his invisibility card. His magic resistance will be very useful towards the end of the game.
Lancer: The first hero who can summon a “pet”. The extra character is always summoned at the start of battle, making this character a good meat shield. The spear can damage two enemies in a row, and together with the Armor Break ability, you can wreak havoc when there are many enemies in a row.
Prince: This hero allows you to command an ally or enemy to attack another enemy. One of the most powerful and versatile cards. Surrounding the prince with allies is an easy way to gain an attack damage bonus without going to the front lines.
Savager: This hero is capable of wiping out the entire board with a single action. Allocate a lot of points to the bloodthirsty creature, which will automatically attack the Savager when it kills a monster.
Lady: A powerful defensive heroine. She is the only one who can heal the party with a passive card. Her divine shield blocks all forms of damage.
Druid: This character can summon two “pets”. A large bear that attacks multiple enemies and a smaller fox that deals high damage to a single target. If your party needs extra defenses, you can also transform into a large tree to absorb damage while your other heroes deliver the final blow.
Dwarf King: This hero also has a “pet” that helps absorb some damage. In addition, he has a passive card that calls an ally to attack when damaged by enemies.
Knight: Just like the archer, the knight can automatically charge the enemy with the lowest health at the beginning of the fight with “charge”. If the enemy survives, their Follow Me card will summon an ally to also attack that target. A really very powerful hero.
Fire Mage: Devastating magic damage cards and a pet that can be summoned anywhere on the battlefield.
Closing remarks
A good party needs to have high damage dealers, ways to absorb damage without getting hurt, and some sort of AOE for fighting a lot of enemies. Choose your party carefully and bring your lucky dice as you face off against the wizard and his magic.
Good luck, my students!
