Their skills and talent on the track were second to none, and the McKanes’ fearsome off-track demeanor gave them that infamous status. With the coming Grid Legends, Nathan and Ryan McKane are back, bringing a cast of characters along for the ride in an exciting new story mode: Driven to Glory.
Driven to Glory is a classic underdog story shot in a documentary style. Filmed using state-of-the-art virtual production, you play the role of Driver 22, a newcomer to the network World Series, who was hired as a second driver for the ailing team Seneca Racing. Seneca hasn’t had much luck with No. 2 drivers in the past, so it’s a gamble to pin your hopes on a relatively untried driver like you. your goals? Rise to the top and challenge the mighty Ravenwest to become one network
In Driven to Glory, you’ll drive a diverse roster of cars, from open-wheel single-seaters to iconic supercars, on some of the world’s greatest racetracks. There are also recurring fictional fan favorites network‘s legendary Yokohama Docks, where Drift and Elimination events also return.
Among the talented drivers, team principals and more is Ncuti Gatwa, whom you may recognize from the award-winning Netflix film Sex Education. In the role of Voltz Racing’s leading driver, Valentin Manzi, Seneca identifies Voltz and Manzi early on as the key rivals and the ones who will help the team climb to the top network world series. You’ll have to do more than just beat Voltz, though, because as always, you’ll find that Ravenwest remains a force to be reckoned with on and off the racetrack.
Aside from this exciting narrative mode, there’s a lot more to get your teeth into. The hand-picked selection of over 100 cars at launch includes hundreds of carefully crafted career events that aren’t just playable alone. Cross-platform multiplayer and a unique bouncing mechanic allow you to join a friend or rival’s career event mid-race and keep your focus on the race.
Race Creator lets you dream up over a million race combinations to host events online. Whether you want a multi-class field race past Buckingham Palace on the streets of London, or a 22-player elimination event in Dubai with boost gates and ramps, you can let your imagination run wild.
There are a variety of assists and difficulty options to suit all skill levels, from racing game veterans on a wheel to newcomers looking to dip their toe into the genre on the pad. Grid Legends is the perfect title to jump straight into.
