According to Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann, AI will break the boundaries of storytelling.
As part of Sony’s Creative Entertainment Vision, Neil Druckmann, Creative Director and Co-President at Naughty Dog, was interviewed and shared interesting views on AI technologies.
When asked what the fusion of storytelling and technology will look like in the next 10 years, he emphasized that people without much technical know-how will benefit the most. It will be easier for them to implement their ideas.
Druckmann used AI as an example. Such tools make it easier for people to realize their fantasies and ideas. There would be problems, but fundamentally it will drive game development forward.
“AI will really revolutionize how content is created, but it will also raise some ethical questions that we need to address.”
He goes on to say that it is not just artificial intelligence that will reduce the costs of game development. Motion capture, for example, is now also possible from home. According to Druckmann, all of this will break down the boundaries of storytelling in the future.
