Possible references to Control 2 can be found in Alan Wake 2’s recently released The Lake House DLC.
The Finnish development studio Remedy is known for repeatedly incorporating Easter eggs or connections to other titles into its games. This also happened with the recently released The Lake House DLC for Alan Wake 2, in which some possible clues regarding Control 2 can be found.
If you haven’t played the DLC yet and don’t want to be spoiled, don’t read any further.
Towards the end of the expansion, protagonist Kiran Estevez is teleported to the Oceanview Hotel and then to the Panoptikon in the Oldest House, the headquarters of the FBC – both locations will be familiar to Control players.
There Estevez has a conversation with Jesse Faden’s younger brother Dylan, who is also the director of the FBC. Although the conversation remains cryptic and vague, it ends with a look into the future and images that could possibly come from Control 2.
According to the images, the action of Control 2 could not take place in the Oldest House, but instead use a New York corrupted by the influence of the Hiss as the setting. IGN captured the scenes in the following video:
