THE ORIGIN: Blind Maid This is a Survival Horror in first and third person (stay to read the analysis to understand this) comes from Paraguayan minds under study Warani Studios, with publication by the Spanish publisher BadLand Publishing. In the past, we have already had great Latin titles of this genre (see Tormented souls, For example). Will have reached Blind maid sneak into that shortlist?
In today’s analysis you will find the answer to this question. Without further ado, we start talking about:
A story that could be very interesting
THE ORIGIN: Blind Maid This puts us in the shoes of a corrupt politician who, fleeing justice, finds himself in a disturbing place where truly paranormal events occur. Suddenly, the companion he was with becomes hostile for no apparent reason and does not seem to recognize him.

The reason I think the story could be interesting is that the ultimate goal of the story is to discover the origin of evil. Too bad it’s told in a way that, personally, isn’t entirely appealing. Most events are revealed through text, but also through short cutscenes which also don’t count for much. In short, a story that could have been very good if it had been better managed.
¿Survival “Horror”?
Although it really is Survival Horror, the truth is that THE ORIGIN: Blind Maid There is little “horror”. Obviously, its atmosphere is dark and with horror elements, but it will be very difficult for you to experience real fear while playing the game. The music sometimes doesn’t quite fit the tense moments we experience while being pursued by an imposing enemy (I’ll come back to that later). That, combined with the outdated animations and graphics, ends up causing you almost no terror.

Of course, when it comes to survival mechanisms, there is nothing to complain about. We have a limited amount of resources which must be collected in a small/medium sized card, visit new places in each chapter. There are also some “puzzles” which mainly consist of searching for objects that we need to be able to continue moving forward. We have firearms that, unfortunately, do not perform very satisfactorily. Again, in the latter sense, it seems to be a work of past generations.
Improving skills is another of the great strengths of Paraguayan football. It’s not that we can move to the next level, but that we have a manufacturing system that will allow us to manufacture special substances to absorb different superhuman abilities, such as being able to see from a distance where items are located waiting to be picked up. Likewise, our basic attributes (health, resistance, etc.) will gradually improve as we face dangers.
The tireless enemies who pursue THE ORIGIN: Blind Maid
THE ORIGIN: Blind Maid has little variety of enemies. There are two main types: a basic that will be repeated throughout the adventure and he dies from about 2-3 bullets from our weapon, and another who will constantly pursue us without pause. What becomes the persecuting enemy typical of sagas like Survive to o resident Evil, among others. However, I consider that something much more tedious is being done here.

We use minimal stealth mechanics this can help us avoid a confrontation with these pursuers. If they eventually catch up with us, you will notice that no matter how much you run without stopping, they will never lose sight of you. The only way to lose them is to continue advancing in the adventure until we reach an area where, finally, they leave us alone. If this doesn’t happen, we can circle around them non-stop for a few exhausting minutes, until they finally kill us and force us to return to a checkpoint sometimes quite far from where we were killed. Personally, I find this point quite tedious and sometimes frustrating, which greatly hinders the final experience.
Technically very fair
Quite mediocre graphics in general, very outdated animations, irregular optimization… Even if the sound and dubbing (in English, although the texts are in Spanish) yes, they are saved, this is what we will have in THE ORIGIN: Blind Maid. Yes, it’s an independent studio with the limited capabilities that that implies, but sometimes it’s better to be less ambitious when you know that you don’t have enough resources to develop a project with – relatively – great ambitions.

However, I do want to highlight the game’s third-person mode. By simply changing an option in the menu we can play in first and third person. Additionally, it is possible to change the FOV (field of view) between three different options to suit each.
Finally, THE ORIGIN: Blind Maid is…
In short, with everything discussed in this text, we can conclude that THE ORIGIN: Blind Maid He barely manages to get through. Nothing he presents is exactly excellent, Yes OK has a few positive points like the dubbing of voices or the story at the beginning, which then leaves something to be desired because of the way it is told. On the negative side we mainly see a general technical section (except sound) and rather outdated shots, an almost non-existent feeling of real terror and tireless pursuers it only makes us despair.
Personally, I think the title could have been a much juicier proposition if they had been a little less ambitious with so few resources. Of course, this is just one server’s opinion. We at Xbox Area look forward to hearing from you, our dear readers, as we continue to keep you up to date with news, analysis, and articles about your favorite hobby.
THE ORIGIN: Blind Maid It is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC. At some point, it should also be released on Nintendo Switch.

I’ve been playing video games for as long as I can remember, so it’s safe to say I enjoy talking about them a little.
