SteamWorld Build has been revealed for 2023. Anno meets Dungeon Keeper with the typical SteamWorld touch on PC, Xbox, PlayStation and Switch this year.
Steam World is back! During the SteamWorld Telegraph: Special Broadcast event, live-streamed on Twitch, YouTube and Steam yesterday, Thunderful and in-house development studio The Station unveiled a brand new installment in the popular franchise: SteamWorld Build.
As is usual with the franchise, SteamWorld Build takes a well-known genre and gives it a unique twist, offering a multi-stage city-building experience in which you must build a thriving city above ground while mining resources and dealing with monsters below .
In SteamWorld Build you are the architect of a SteamWorld mining town. You must lay the foundation and build houses for your Steambot residents, provide them with food and provide some entertainment. You will also venture into the abandoned mine beneath your city, said to be filled with ancient technology holding the key to escaping impending doom.
Use the natural resources above ground and the abundant ores in the mine to expand your city. Stimulate new layers of settlement to join the quest to dig deeper, unearth untold riches and eventually help them off the planet!
SteamWorld Build was developed simultaneously for PC and console to ensure that the game’s design, UX and UI work just as reliably with a controller in hand as with a mouse and keyboard. The game features a user-friendly interface and game mechanics suitable for both experienced players and newcomers to the city builder genre, further refined by three difficulty levels.
SteamWorld Build will be released later in 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
