With over 33 million units sold, the Nintendo Switch has become the best-selling console of all time in Japan.
As seen in the ones recently released by Nintendo quarterly results As can be seen, the Nintendo Switch was able to sell a total of 139.36 million units worldwide by December 31st of last year.
In Japan alone, the hybrid console was sold 33.34 million times during this period, making it the best-selling console of all time in the land of the rising sun.
In second place is the in-house competition in the form of the Nintendo DS (32.99 million units sold), and in third place is the Game Boy/Game Boy Color, also developed by Nintendo (32.47 million units sold).
In a global comparison, the Nintendo Switch ranks third behind the PlayStation 2 (155 million units sold) and the Nintendo DS (154 million units sold).
