Bomberman is one of those famous characters that crosses the ages of video games. In 2017, a new installment in the saga was released on Nintendo Switch before coming to other platforms a year later. Today Konami officially announces a sequel to Super Bomberman R

pour 2023.

As always in Bomberman, it’s all about planting bombs and blowing up your neighbors. However for that Bomberman R2the Japanese developer promises some new features, starting with a castle mode.

This new mode allows 16 players to play online. 15 of them have to fight their way through tricky levels to recover various chests hidden on the maps. But when facing them, a player will aim to stop them.

A new principle for the license that could cause laughter and bad intentions among friends.

Another novelty for this sequel, the addition of a Battle Royale mode. The latter can accommodate up to 64 players who must do whatever it takes to be the last survivor.

It’s easy to imagine the zones getting smaller over time to force opponents to confront each other. A great Bomberman classic.

Finally, you can learn more about the announcement video available below. Bomberman R2 appears on all common media and will determine the publication date in the coming months.
