The Borderlands Cinematic Universe is different from the games and will therefore have independent storylines.
The shooting of the Borderlands movie started a few days ago in Hungary. The film is being directed by Eli Roth with stars like Cate Blanchett. Kevin Hart and Jack Black.
Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford is also present on set as an executive producer.
He now said of the film that while being authentic about the characters, tone, and style of the Borderlands video game universe. Still, the Borderlands Cinematic Universe would be a different medium. Therefore, there are also independent storylines. The content of the film is therefore not tied to the games.
The Borderlands movie will therefore not be an exact copy of the games and fans can expect innovations that did not appear in the games.
