Launch trailer for the role-playing game
Players are now transported to a post-apocalyptic setting in the isometric role-playing game Broken Roads.
Independent studio Drop Bear publishes the isometric role-playing game Broken Roads for Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and Steam.
As part of the Triple-i initiative, which presents indie games, the launch trailer was presented:
This is Broken Roads
Broken Roads is a narrative role-playing game that brings exploration, strategic turn-based combat and meaningful philosophical decisions to an all-new post-apocalyptic setting in Australia.
Broken Roads skillfully combines traditional and completely new role-playing elements with a classless system that offers almost unlimited possibilities for character development and is built on four philosophies: Humanist, Utilitarian, Machiavellian and Nihilist.
Additionally, the game offers players an original morality system: the Moral Compass, where dialogue options and quest choices influence and are influenced by a character’s philosophical orientation and the difficult decisions they make along the way.
The locations of Broken Roads were all authentically recreated by the team visiting cities and landmarks in Western Australia and taking photos, videos and audio recordings to make them as realistic as possible.

The game’s atmospheric soundtrack, composed by Tim Sunderland, also consists of instruments built from everyday objects, giving the game its own unique and distinctive sound.
Craig Ritchie, Game Director at Drop Bear Bytes, said: “With Broken Roads we wanted to create a distinctly Australian take on the post-apocalypse. As an island nation with a rich history and diverse – and often dangerous – wildlife, it seemed like the perfect setting. Plus, we’re an Australian studio, so we wanted to share our regional perspective with the rest of the world in a deep, sprawling RPG filled with colorful characters, compelling mysteries and challenging moral dilemmas.”
