We can choose NOT to INSTALL Warzone and save disk space
Something that was quite heavy Call of DutyIt is the obligation to have to install War zone mandatory as a base game with one of the latest installments of the franchise. For example, if you want to play the Modern Warfare III campaign, currently on Game Pass, you had to install the “base game”, which is the Battle Royale COD.
However, today you can choose what you want to install among the different games of the franchise, such as multiplayer, campaign or zombies. You can even mix different games and different modalities. But what makes the community very angry is having to occupy some 80 GB because of Warzone.

Today it was confirmed that the Call of Duty team is complete a free update to be able to free up disk space if you are not interested in this part of the IP, which until today was mandatory. Separating Warzone from the different game modes to be able to customize our installations seemed logical, but it never came to fruition.
From Activision they have started working and it will happen next August 21 in anticipation of the arrival of Black Ops 6 and its open beta. This way, with each new installment, players will be able to install only the part that interests them and leave the free-to-play on hold if they don’t need it.
As if that were not enough, the team is also working on reduce disk space of your gamesusing for this a “texture diffusion» which will make the game files lighter. There will be 2 options for players, either use high bandwidth for high quality textures, or, conversely, use less bandwidth with the consequence of a decrease in the quality of the textures.

To be added, in the development team’s roadmap, are the Open beta on August 30th and mid-October new interface and the user. The latter will add a much simpler, clearer and more organized interface, which clashes head-on with the gibberish that we have today with the various deliveries.

Call of Duty will arrive on October 25 on Xbox, Playstation and PC, in addition to being included at launch in Xbox Game Pass.
