Connected Universe is just beginning

Beginning, connected, Universe

According to Creative Director Sam Lake, the Remedy Connected Universe is just beginning and there's no reason to worry about it ending.

While games developed by Remedy have always included mutual references in the form of Easter eggs, the Finnish development studio has established the so-called Remedy Connected Universe over the last few years with Control and Alan Wake 2.

When asked about a possible end to the games' convoluted plots, which will most likely be expanded upon by Control 2 and FBC: Firebreak, which are in development, Creative Director Sam Lake explains that the Remedy Connected Universe is just beginning and it is still too early to say To think about the ending:

“I have the feeling that we are only at the beginning and therefore it is too early to talk about an endgame. I love connecting these things together. I love deepening it and expanding the lore. It really feels like an opportunity to continue to build on these strands that we've laid and develop different ideas. This is really exciting.”

“The way we see it, every game has to be fun in its own right and stand on its own two feet. But for our fans, for people who have played other Remedy games, we want to build a lot of content into the ongoing story of the universe for them to discover. And we are confident that there is now a universe and a catalog of games that we will gradually expand, so that hopefully someone who plays their first Remedy game can continue in that universe and try out the other games too, to go deeper down that rabbit hole.”
