Video game developer Bungie has sued the site AimJunkies for copyright infringement, but has been partially unsuccessful.
The sci-fi shooter Destiny 2 enjoys not only a good PvE system, but also a well-frequented PvP element. And whenever players compete against other players, there is also cheating.
The AimJunkies site has set itself the task of creating and distributing cheats and mods, Bungie then has them because of it Copyright Infringement sued. That lawsuit was partially dismissed in court.
The development studio has attempted to obtain a standard judgment in court to close the case and move forward. While the process preparations were running, the Destiny 2 cheats were already removed from the site and the site operators have them allegations dismissed
US District Judge Thomas Zilly partially agreed with the site operators, saying the plaintiff did not provide enough evidence to make a standard judgment.
However, the case is not closed yet, as Bungie also accused the site of infringing trademark rights. A decision in this case is still pending.
