You may not know this Twitter account, but it is known for its extensive searches for Xbox Store source codes. According to him, a new file would point to Age of Empires IV. This file would speak of a trial version, available through the Xbox Insider Hub.
If you see the words “CAR” it would actually be “CARDINAL”. According to ALumia_Italia, Cardinal is Microsoft’s internal code name for Age of Empires IV.
This is the first time Microsoft has mentioned XIP. The last internal tests were:
1) Cardinal Insider
2) Cardinal Closed Beta – May 21st
3) Cardinal Closed Beta – June 21st
4) Cardinal Closed Beta 2 – June 21st
5) Cardinal August 2021
6) Cardinal September 2021
7) Cardinal October 2021– Lumia updates (@ALumia_Italia) January 9, 2022
Nothing is confirmed for the time being. However, last November, AoE-4 director Adam Isgreen said the team would “consider how the game works on consoles” once the release is complete. Game PC. “We don’t have any final plans yet, but now” we’re really going to start thinking about it “.
We also got to see “Cloud Gaming” at the announcement of the release date of AoE 4 at the end of the trailer. Despite everything, that mention very quickly disappeared from the other videos. If you too want to play this wonderful real-time strategy game on the console, it may be possible in a few months. However, all of this remains a guess and nothing is certain.
In the end, Age of Empires 2 was available on PS2 at the time.
