Hello, readers! I’m Luc Baghadoust, executive producer of Don’t Nod Montréal’s newly announced narrative adventure game. Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. I’m here to talk a little about the game, our studio, and the teams involved in bringing this new story to life. Tonight at The Game Awards, we’re excited to finally reveal what we’ve been working on and what we’re so proud of: a new game and a new series!

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage started after Michel Koch (Creative Director) and I worked on it Life is strange 1 And 2, when we had the opportunity to start a new adventure for Don’t Nod: the creation of a new studio in Montreal. Expansion abroad had been discussed for some time and with the strong support of Don’t Nod Paris we took the step. Michel and I were both already excited about North America and the industry is vibrant here with so many exciting studios and talent.

Of course, we didn’t expect a global pandemic and it was a challenge to prepare everything. Luckily, Don’t Nod implemented a company-wide remote work policy that allowed us to collaborate remotely. Starting a new team was a fascinating experience. Together with the managing director of Don’t Nod Montréal, Frédérique Fourny-Jennings, we shape the vision of the studio and its projects. We were fortunate to be able to bring Don’t Nod’s uniqueness and values to the Montreal scene.

We brought with us key people who had worked on previous Life is Strange games, such as Baptiste Moisan, our lead designer, and Juliette Devillers, our lead character artist. We were also able to attract fantastic talent to the Montréal Studio, many of whom were influenced by these games and wanted to help us tell our new story. A big thank you to the team in Montreal and to every new talent who joined us and helped make all the pieces come together.

Jean-Luc Cano, who wrote the screenplays for Life is Strange 1 and 2, and his team of amazing writers worked closely with Michel to develop the story and characters Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. We firmly believe that the best characters make the best stories, and we think you’ll all love Swann, Nora, Autumn and Kat: four high school friends who form bonds over the course of a once-in-a-lifetime summer. Fate sees them together again 27 years later, after they promised never to speak to each other again. It is a thoughtful story full of friendship, emotions, secrets and magical surrealism.

Now to Lost Records! Bloom and anger is the first game in the Lost Records universe. We obviously wanted to continue making narrative adventure games, with a strong focus on characters that resonate with people. Bloom and anger has a lot in common with our previous games, but also offers innovations in some areas. Creating a universe and connecting the stories within it is something we’ve dreamed of. The possibilities are endless and the stories we can tell in this universe are vast. Don’t Nod Montréal is working hard to bring these ideas and games to life!

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage Publication is scheduled for the end of 2024. However, if you want to stay up to date with news and updates, follow Lost Records on X, InstagramAnd Tick tock. There’s definitely more to come, and we can’t wait to show it to you.
