The free game Dauntless will be switched off at the end of May.
The free action role-playing game Daunless will switch off its servers on May 29, 2025 and will therefore no longer be playable. Developer Phoenix Labs has announced that there will be no further content or updates for the game.
The decision was followed by the publication of the awakening update in December, which met with long-term players because it reset and introduced aggressive microtransactions. These changes led to a decline in the player base and financial difficulties for the studio.
In January 2025, Phoenix Labs released a large part of his workforce, which is due to the negative effects of the update and the resulting challenges.
