Deathloop is the next game from Arkane Lyon. The studio, now owned by Xbox, took advantage of the State of Play on Thursday July 8th to share a new gameplay sequence. The latter, with a length of around ten minutes, enables a better understanding of the game mechanics – and of course that promises to be damn exciting!
Buckle up
In Deathloop you play Colt, an assassin trapped in a time loop. The latter actually goes through the same day over and over again and is determined to put an end to it. To do this you have to kill 8 targets, the visionaries.
Problem, these are obviously being guarded and your enemies will be numerous. And you also have to watch out for Julianna, an assassin who only wants one thing, her death … and reliving your endless loop.
This new long gameplay sequence allows you to see all of this in action. The clashes are numerous and the ways to achieve your goals are legion. A multitude of possibilities that also affect the way in which you end the day of your adversaries.
You can murder them head-on, or play them more stealthily in sniper mode or ranged grenade combat. Better still, you can use the decor too, like this standing submachine gun that will clean up a place too busy for you. The choice is yours, and your decision will be at the mercy of your death.
Die to come back stronger
With each loop, you learn more about your enemies and the places they protect. In this way you can refine your approaches, improve your attack plans until you achieve your goals. Death will therefore be inevitable and necessary to get out of it.
Between each death you have the option to save your skills or weapons by using Residium. This substance is said to be in the world of Death loop but also on your corpse. Enough to come back stronger and better armed to take revenge on your assassins.
Eventually, Julianna will be able to illustrate herself at different times and in different places to face you. It seems that his interventions will not be linear and therefore evolve with each loop.

Secondary atmosphere, Death loop promises a lot. If you’d like it Dishonored and its continuation, this gameplay sequence may well bring back some memories. It is difficult to hide the legacy between the two titles, in fact Death loop carries the leg of Arkane Lyon.
