Guardians have held out under a sky covered by the Endless Night. By trusting each other and their new Eliksni allies, the Vex simulation was overwritten, deleted, crashed. As the sun rises again over the Last City, it never seemed more appropriate to bask in the brilliant valor that encourages us even in the face of the most difficult challenges. And so it’s time to celebrate. The Heroes Solstice has returned.
Everyone is invited
New players, veterans, Season Pass holders, or free players – no matter how you play Fate 2, Eva Levante invites you to join the celebrations. Meet her near the hero statue in the tower and start your quest to unlock some of the most noticeable armor in the game.
Your adventure takes you through the fast-paced, soaring landscape of the European Aerial Zone and strengthens you with daily elementary buffs. Even if you attended the celebration last year, there are a few new twists and turns and Bungie rewards in 2021 that you should check out.
As bright as the sun
A core piece of the Solstice of Heroes experience is finding the legendary glowing solstice armor. First, meet with Eva Levante in the tower and learn a little about what Solstice of Heroes is and why it is so important to Guardians and Citizens alike.
After familiarizing yourself with our Herald of Jubilee, you’ll receive basic armor that you can upgrade through a variety of activities. The armor goes through various phases of repair before reaching the Magnificent Phase. When you have completed this final level, a distinctive white glow will begin to emit from the set.
European flight zone
One of the cornerstones of the Solstice event is the opening of the European Aerial Zone (EAZ). This limited-time activity (in more ways than one) lets players race against the clock to eliminate as many bosses as possible. After the bosses are defeated, another race begins: a race for treasure.
Chests appear all over the map, and it’s up to your three-player operations team to move skillfully through the landscape and claim the rewards before the time runs out.
New in 2021 are additional jump pads that increase the traversal options, as well as an update that permanently shows where the treasure chests are during the last part of the race. Search used to be part of it – today it’s all about speed.
Regardless of what activities you enjoy, a rotating set of buffs will be available for the duration of the event. Each buff is based on one of the game’s four elements: Arc, Solar, Void, and, for the first time in Destiny, stasis.
Each day will feature one of these elements and will challenge players to align their subclass with them in order to recharge the associated buff. Combine the perfect build, gear, and buff to melt enemies (in and out of the EAZ) without breaking a sweat.
- arc: Move at increased speed, dealing greater melee and sword damage.
- Solar: Guardians emit a burning wave of energy that damages everything around them.
- Empty: Crouch while empowered to become invisible and gain True Sight and improved ability regeneration.
- stasis: Eliminations create an unstable stasis crystal that floats up and twirls for a few seconds before detonating, damaging, and slowing enemies trapped in the explosion.
Along with the introduction of the Stasis Buff, we’ve also added a new Elemental Tag we call Prism. On Prism Days, every element is in play and every buff can be recharged – it is up to the players to choose the subclass that best suits the situation.
Classify each legendary piece of armor with universal ornaments that give a special solstice glow that suits your subclass. These will be available for Silver or Bright Dust in the Eververse Store throughout the event.
New rewards have been added to an already amazing selection of collectibles available through the Bungie rewards program.
Players can immortalize their participation in the 2021 event with the Solstice of Heroes 2021 emblem. The new emblem will unlock quickly once players complete the introductory journey.
Those who purchase their final Solstice armor set will unlock the exclusive Solstice of Heroes 2021 shirt for purchase from the Bungie Store.
